Chapter 36

Maddox's POV

I just made it into my room, slamming the door shut and locking it, not wanting to be bothered.

As I started to walk toward the bed I stumbled forward clutching my stomach and chest. I stumbled toward the bed and caught it before I fell.

I grunted and clenched my teeth at this painful sensation that burned through my chest and stomach.

I cried out and fell backwards arching my back when I felt the same pain suddenly spread across my back.

I laid there panting and sweating as I tossed and turned while crying out. I heard banging at the door and voices but couldn't respond.

I heard a crashing sound as the door was broken open. Addison and Xander quickly at my side trying to figure out what was wrong.

I screamed out almost flying off the bed as the intense burn and pain shot across my back several more times.

The sensation so familiar now, I could barely breathe. I was back in that room hanging from the ceiling as they whipped me.
