I cursed holding her unconscious body in my arms. I hurriedly scooped her up and rushed out of the room. She felt lighter than the feather. I sprinted down the stats and out of the front door , her family following behind.

My hands trembled as i fumbled the keys , finally getting her into the passenger seat and speeding towards the hospital.

My heart beta accelerated as I drove as fast as i could to the hospital. At the hospital , nurses and doctor quickly took Evelyn from my arms , whisking her away in the emergency room. I stood there , my mind numb with fear. I didn’t want anything to happen to her.

Soon , her family reached and I noticed Sam and lilah followed by Alex. We all waited for the doctor to come out and tell us about Evelyn. About what felt like eternity , a doctor approached the anxious group.

“ shes not well “

He said gravely.

“ shes extremely weak and severely malnourished. Her body has been under immense stress. We’re doing everything we can but
