Chapter 2: Modern Zorro

The well-known hero that slays wickedry like Zorro was long forgotten by many. The current generation is now fantasizing men in suits brutally slaying bad or good people, those who created chaos amongst mankind. The very people who opposed both inferiority and corruption amongst men are the ones that create the renowned word. It is being romanticized on TV and novels as though it is an acceptable thing for mankind.

And as Zorro was long forgotten, so as the righteous ones had forgotten to fight for the righteous things in this world. It became a chaos that no one could stop.

For Saint, his Zorro was his father. No one could do what he had to do in the past. And now that he is in charge of everything, all eyes are waiting for his fall.

He is currently fixing his silver satin neck tie while he faced the human-sized mirror in his little apartment inside New York. After that, he put on his white tuxedo and elegantly moved. He brought his eagle-head staff with him, put on his white designer's hat, and he exited his room quickly.

He rode his new white revolver car he bought with the help of Connor Torres, his Capo Bastone in Mirage. He rode and reached an address that was sent to him by the Mirage Council. It is the address of a man named Monte Silva. He is an Italian descent that resides in New York for 5 years. He is the 3rd Capo of a particular family, Saint's next target.

The De Rossi Family.

De Rossis are one of the 4 families claiming to be against the Mirage System. They are also the mafia family that deliberately expose the secret of the society. One of their gravest sins is reaching the highest entity in the country, that is the government. For 10 years, they have not stopped their arrogance and kept on doing embezzlement and money laundering in some states around USA. Only the Mirage System has known the information of this since Marcelo III's reign.

De Rossi's current Capo famiglia or Don named Lorenzo De Rossi is also responsible for the death of Saint's father, Marcello III. So, right after he has taken over the seat, he immediately focused on the De Rossis. To be able to catch the Boss, Saint has to go through a lot. It's been 4 months since he tried to catch just one of the family's soldiers but they are all well-prepared.

He is pretty frustrated about it. He wanted to eradicate them all at once but he has to go through the rules. He just needed to give them first warning as the new Boss of Mirage.

There is a party coming in a private resort. It is the exact address that Connor has given him.

Saint pushed something in his ear and started to talk while he parked his car carefully beside the next pedestal in front of the resort entrace. There are too many people at the entrance. From where he is, he could smell the reek of alcohol, coke, and cigar. It's something he is not a fan of but is very familiar with.

He locked his eyes at every people he could greet with his mesmerizing eyes. "Are you seeing him right now?" he asked in his earpiece.

"He's yet to arrive. According to invitation list, his name is not yet confirmed in the database. I'm trying to receive information from Mark but he's talking to someone at the moment," Connor informed him on the other line. He is currently typing fast in front of a computer. He is inside a van that he and Mark rode earlier.

Saint sighed and tapped his fingers on the handwheel, trying not to burst in frustration. "Show me the map. I need to know the safe exit points and how thick the security is," he ordered him.

"Hold on..." Connor started to type again, trying to connect his server to Saint's phone.

Saint also opened his phone and waited for the command prompt to pop up. After a few minutes, the command prompt popped up on his screen. He immediately clicked on the "yes" button and the 3D blueprint map of the resort was shown there. It is the map of the whole resort including the parking lot and the highways nearby.

He clicked on the buttons at the bottom and the map has its real-time view. He couldn't help but smile at it. "Good job, Con. You're hacking the whole planet again..." he complimented him.

Connor snorted on the other line. "I deserve a slap, don't I?"

"You're fvcking right," he agreed. "Now, tell me. Which exit is the least difficult?"

"The resort has a complex exit points as you can see on the map. There are no guards but see to it that they have made every door and window electrifyingly dangerous. It can zap even the fly. And sadly, all of them are uniformly dangerous. I don't think you can use your combat skills here, and an attempt to terrorize the party isn't something that is ideal," Connor started to explain. "So, we need to make a very slight distraction."

"What kind of distraction?"

"I will temporarily shut down the power inside. To do that, Mark must activate the interceptor device inside the resort's main server. After that, I will disable one of the exit doors for some time until you can come in," Connor finished while visualizing the whole plan.

Saint nodded at the idea. He's not really a techy guy. Good thing Connor is beside him. He is one of his trusted men in Mirage. He wouldn't able to do this mission if it wasn't for him. "So, when are you able to execute this plan? And how many minutes do we have left before that old Capo comes in?"

"About 20 minutes, we need to finish it," Connor answered. "Do you hear that, Mark?"

"Yes, I'm listening..." Mark replied. He has finally finished his conversation with a businessman he purposefully approached to talk to. Mark is wearing a neat black tux. His hair is waxed neatly with his long hair up to his shoulders being tied at his back. He came to the party as one of the invited guests. Connor did the excellent job in hacking into the list and alter the picture of the guest named 'Tom O'Brien". He walks away from the crowd and carefully got out of everyone's eyes. He is now looking at an empty and narrow alleyway with two doors. "Which door should I open, Conny?" he asked.

"Choose the door on your left."

Mark obliged and carefully walked in the alleyway. At that moment, Connor is also freezing the CCTV cameras that captured Mark's movement. His fingers typed quickly to make everything normal.

Mark successfully came inside the door. There he saw a steel door saying "Unauthorized Personel is not allowed in this room." He immediately clicked the button in his earpiece. "I'm in front of the door. I think this is it, Conny. Are you seeing this?" he asked.

Connor nodded and hummed. "Hmm... yep. That's definitely it. Don't touch anything, dude or it's going to kill you," he warned him. "Do you see that touch pad?"

Mark nodded. "Yeah..." He opened a mounted little hatch on the door and saw the touch pad that was activated after he opened it.

It says "Welcome" and is asking for a passcode.

"What's the code?"

"Not yet, Mark. I'm studying the features yet. Relax."

He scoffed. "Yeah, fine. Are we supposed to make it fast?"

"Shut up! I can't concentrate, you idiot!" Connor snapped.

Mark just silently laughed. He could also hear how Saint did give a little giggle. "It's good to be back working with you again, Boss!" he said.

"What's taking that sh*t so long, Mark?" Saint asked.

"You know Conny! He's always so slow at this sometimes..."

"Hey, I heard that!" Connor interrupted. "Mark, could you please press the okay button and say this word at the speaker: Uccidi il miraggio," he instructed blandly. "And please work on your accent so it sure works."

Mark raised his brows in confusion. "What the fvck!" he hissed.

Connor just smirked. "I know, fvcker. But that's the real password. I'm not kidding," he explained.

"Well, that's how blindly De Rossis promote hatred towards us. Be relieved that it's going to be their last cursing at our sacred name. Get it?" Saint interrupted.

That somehow eased Mark's distress. He just turned off his mic and did what he had to do. That's the only way he can accesss the main server room by saying "Kill the Mirage" in front of a mere computer.

And as expected, the door was unlocked easily after saying the password. Mark couldn't help but shiver in disgust of how he said those words. He is very loyal to the Mirage System and treated it as the highest government in the world. To him, it's like his own kind of religion that no one can understand.

After unlocking the heavy door, he immediately brought his gun with him and aimed from side to side, making sure that the coast is clear. After clearing the area, he turned on his earpiece once more. "All clear..." he declared.

"Good!" Connor complimented him and clapped once. "Now, proceed to the third server. You will find a pulley there. Just pull it down and open another hatch," he instructed him further.

Mark already walked through the hall of servers and stopped at the third one. He inspected it until he saw what Connor was talking about. "Found it, Conny. What now?"

"Great! Now, pull it down and do the drill."

Mark obliged. Finally, he saw the monitor from the hatch he opened. He brought a flash drive and opened the file through the document app. He activated the interceptor and connected it to Connor's server with several clicks. There's a prompt that shows the status of the activation.

He smiled and finally spoke. "It's downloading now. 20%," he informed him.

"We'll have to wait for that before we could shut off the power," he said. "Boss, get ready to the exit 8 route. Make sure to clear the path before coming in close. Many are watching the exit points through the control room," he said.

Saint already got out of his car with a stern face. This time, he changed his clothes into a normal bellboy of the resort. At least, for him, he looks normal. His charismatic face and aura indeed made some ladies stop talking for a short while. Some of their mouths hung open in awe upon seeing his existence.

"I haven't seen such a sexy bell boy! Who is that man?" a middle-aged woman asked another woman beside her. She is looking intently at Saint who is in his disguise.

His tall and dominance flaunted the whole scene as though he is actually the owner of the night.

Saint didn't like the attention that he got, so he abruptly lowered his head while reaching to the luggage cart colored in gold. He pretended to be in a cool and normal stance and started to push the cart towards the direction that he pleases. He tried his best to hide his face as it begins to capture much attention than he expected.

"What the fvck is going on, Con? Is my cover being blown that quickly? Who has leaked the information?!" he asked, hissing on the other line.

"What? Why? I haven't seen anything suspicious yet. What's the matter, boss?" Connor asked. He was checking on the CCTV cameras that are capturing Saint's body built. Then, he saw what he was trying to say. "Ah... that..."

Saint's brow raised in confusion. "That, what?"

"Boss, you should really try to open a television after this. You know, you're losing the trend. You're still following a very old-fashioned way of living. We're in the 20th century already! And your face is the new trend. Don't you know that?" he informed him.

Saint just continued to walk with the luggage cart still hiding his whole face until he reached the less crowded area near the exit point. "Stop making fun of me. I'm not going to buy it!" he hissed once more.

"B-but it's true! Try to search BTS later. And you'll know what I'm talking about, Boss!"

Saint just rolled his eyes and shook his head. As if he'll actually buy Connor's words. Never! He hated the attention. It felt like he's being watched by his enemies out in the open and ready to aim fire at him.

Finally, he stopped in front of the steel door. The area is isolated and no one is suspiciously looking at the direction. He used that opportunity to execute his plan. And as he slowly approached the door, so as the CCTV cameras near his area being manipulated by Connor himself.

"Boss, are you ready?"

Saint just smirked and stood coolly in front of the steel door, imagining himself looking at Monte Silva. "As always..."
