Chapter 6 – First day

Jack's POV

My alarm went off at 4:30am as usual but I woke up earlier than that, my wolf has been on edge lately and hasn't been talking to me lately, it's weird, we haven't had a argument so I don't get why she is feeling on edge and a bit agitated, however even with these emotions, I could sense a tint of excitement from her. But despite knowing how she felt, I could not tell what she is thinking despite using the same body.

As I was thinking deeply about Sophie, I didn't even realise I have already eaten my breakfast. But anyways, after several thoughts I don't think it was a good idea to think too deep, it is better if I just let Sophie tell me when she feels it's the right time. So, as I decided that I walked out of the dorm and went for a jog outside the new premises I am on, trying to seek out any hiding places for peace and quiet but also some training alone time so no one would find me.

After running around the whole academy, I still couldn't find anything and when I was about to go back to my dorm, I heard a noise coming from deeper within the forest grounds at the end of the academy yard, despite deciding on whether it was a good idea to follow it but at the end I found myself going deeper into it and the further away I got from the dorm, I felt more excitement which I wished to seek out when I was on this premises, the want to explore but also something more which cannot be explained but it definitely wasn't fear.

When I saw a dim of light, I approached it and reached out which led me to fall out of the bush I was originally in and landed next to a riverbank with a light blue shimmer within the water like diamonds glistening below it.

For some reason, the riverbank looked so familiar, it was much like a place I have been in the past, but I couldn’t make out were exactly.

As I walked alongside the riverbank, getting nearer and nearer to its end, I found myself come face to face with a waterfall making everything look even more familiar as I recall to the meadow that I always run into to play during the time that I was at my pack. And such mysterious place was much like where I am at now.

Not knowing whether such familiarity is true, I approached the waterfall, but just before I could touch the waterfall tip, I heard a voice calling out my name.

As the voice became louder, I came to realise it was Alfie, and seeing as how it’s getting livelier outside, I looked over to see my watch indicating 7:30am, I then grabbed my bottle and said goodbye to the field where I would later come to explore before leaving the place and headed towards my dorm room.

By 8:30am, me and the boys headed towards the academy office to get our timetable before going into our separate classes, sadly for me, it seems I only have art with Alfie and James, the rest I must attend alone.

As I went into my maths classroom, all the boy’s excitement dissipated whilst all female students started squirming and chattering whilst I just ignored them all and went straight towards the back of the classroom and sat down on a seat next to the window.

As time flies, for whenever there was a break, I was crowded with female students asking me to go on a date or asking me to be their boyfriend. I’m unsure whether it’s their way of being friendly or are they just this open-minded about everything or maybe they’re just intrigued with my appearance. Currently, I have white silvery hair which was awakened with my new powers alongside disguising my multi-coloured eyes to blue. And to hide my identity, I disguised myself as a human and covered up my wolf’s scent, even when going on missions, no one has ever seen my wolf so I can easily disguise as a human, to be honest the only people who knows of Sophie’s existence is Lilia.

As the days gone by, Friday soon approached, everyone was preparing a party to welcome the upcoming alpha. And luckily for me, everyone was occupied with the arrival of the alpha that they stopped approaching me.

As I walked through the corridor, I could hear whispers and gossip about… let’s just say how obsessed they all are about becoming this so-called alpha’s Luna and their desires made me shiver. I mean I knew these girls were quite open, but I never thought they would say these disturbing things in public, I mean even though this academy has many humans, they must remember there are a few who are werewolves with higher hearing sensitivity.

But nevertheless, I expressionlessly walked down the corridor acting as if I didn’t hear, I mean they all believe I was human so why not use that to my advantage.

As I walked down the corridor and into my classroom, I sat on the same seat as I usually sit whilst the girls outside followed closely behind, sitting in another corner at the back with me whilst carrying on their previous talk, as my discomfort arisen, a sudden voice uplifted my mood, “wow, they’re overly confident that they can get his attention!” Sophie (my wolf) snickered which surprised me, “Sophie! Where have you been for so long?” I asked not taking notice in her previous comment.

There was a small silence before Sophie nervously spoke, “oh, nothing much… something just came up that I had to sort out.” And before I could press on any further, she quickly changed the topic, “anyways it seems like we haven’t talked in a while, why don’t you catch me up on everything that happened?” Whilst I sighed and nodded.

Since we have a few days before our mission starts on Monday, I told her that all my preparations were done and that since I have nothing during the weekends, I plan on visiting the forest once again.

And with Sophie being caught up with me and the boys’ roles in this mission alongside what is happening these next few days, unbeknown to me, class has ended. And after eating lunch, I excused myself from the dining table where the twins were at and went on a walk to digest the food. But a slow jog quickly became a sprint when I see a flood of girls chasing after me.

It made me think of the Tom and Jerry series Lilia was watching, but instead of 1 Tom, there are a flood of them whilst I’m the mouse trying to escape.

Without much thought, my feet instinctively ran towards the southern part of the forest, reaching the river I tried to explore before. At this time, it was already getting dark, and despite how I could see anyone following from behind, I quickly hid myself in the bushes and peaked through it exploring my surroundings before using my powers to explore the premises before I was certain there was no girls around me and started to relax myself as I sat down on the grass, finally catching a breath.

“Finally!” I said, relieved about how I thought these harmless women turned out to be my nemesis have finally given up.

And as I relaxed, I remembered the secret passage that I didn’t get a chance to explore and began to wander towards the waterfall. Seeing how there was a hidden passage inside, I undoubtedly jumped in landing onto concrete floor. After wiping my eyes, I saw a large stone door in front of me carved with some words. As I focused my attention on it, I realised it was written in the historical language that I have studies during childhood and with the help of the witches who I’ve coincidentally met during my journey had helped to improve my skills, so this was no difficult task for me to translate it.

But the only words I could clearly make out was “the chosen one…” whilst the others were damaged by what seems like knife marks.

Well, of course I haven't heard from you since the first day we arrived here, and it seems you are very anxious and fidgety about something since yesterday, but you won't talk to me when I tried to talk to you.

Basically, nearly the whole weekend is going to be busy as hell with so much noise but thankfully, no one would be in the dorms as they will all be in the pack house until Monday when school would start, and I would be exploring as Jacob, Leo and Tom would be on guard in protecting the soon to be alpha and his pack during the weekends before my work resumes.

And regarding where I would hide my weapons when I'm in the academy well that's easy, I have already been carrying weapons with me since the first day in the academy, but no one has noticed so that wouldn't be any problem.

I have 2 silver daggers laced with wolfsbane hidden at the backside of my uniform I'll be wearing during school time except for PE whereby I used my ability to make it invisible and 2 more underneath my belt which cannot be easily found as I use my powers to make it invisible but also to not raise any suspicion. I also have a silver whip that is tide on my waist to look like a trousers belt.

Despite me believing they would be preoccupied about the soon to be alpha, they are still bugging me wherever I go. I quickly ran into the south forest and ended up at the rivers again, but this time it was darker as it was already night-time.

Despite my curiosity, Sophie has no idea of what it means either, so I didn’t press on any further and decided to look around the interior of this place.

After a while, I saw a little gap in the rock boulder next to the stone door and began to reach out into it and with such movement, the door began to vibrate and not long later it stopped and slowly opened as if welcoming me in. Although I didn’t know the dangers and as the saying goes curiosity kills the cat (well in this case it should be wolf), I still did not hesitate and entered, as I went in, I realised it was super dark, but it didn’t scare me since my werewolf eyesight made everything clear for me.

As I neared the end of the path, I see another rock blocking the pathway, believing this was a dead end, I was thinking of going back until the rock suddenly moved revealing a bright and beautiful meadow just like the one Lilia showed me to. They were literally identical.

It was exactly the place I want, a place I could relax from everything that is happening and a place I could be myself… and a place where I can finally train in peace and quiet away from the flood outside.
