Chapter 05

As Hayley is packing the rest of her things, she could not help but think about her future husband-- her damned future husband. The way he said he wanted to marry her now disgusts her.  Why was he even there in the first place?

"Are you alright, milady?"

Hayley glances at Cristy who was helping her with her other things and she smiled, zipping her luggage. Then she went closer to Cristy.

"I am fine. I was just thinking of things I could do for that Ken doll to back out with this absurd engagement."

"The young master, Kenji Maledict seems nice. He took you home safe and sound."

"Oh no!" Hayley rolled her eyes. "He is far from nice! He is arrogant, a womanizer-- that is for sure and..." She pauses, looking around the room to describe the damn man.

"And you do not know much about him, milady."

What Cristy said made her frown, pouting as well. Yes, she does not know the man well but he is a womanizer and she can confirm that! The man smelled of a female perfume and it's not likely for a man like him to wear that.

"Ken doll is undeniably stupid, Cristy. In all honesty, I hate that we will be living together tomorrow. I'm sure he is a messy man just by his hair!"

And she heard Cristy laugh that made her cross her brows, glaring at Cristy. What was funny about what she said? It's true that she can tell by his hair! And from what happened earlier, she knows he is just trying to find a way to bring her down.

After packing the rest of Hayley's things, Cristy bid good night to Hayley, telling her that she will get to know Kenji starting tomorrow.

Deeply sighing, Hayley throws herself in bed, thinking this setting is ridiculous and she can't even do anything. What is she supposed to do tomorrow after settling? Spend the whole two months waiting with that damn Ken doll?

"Oh, my life has ended!" she cries.

Around ten in the morning when Hayley arrived at the Marie Swan's Building. She was told by her parents to get the details at the front desk and so she went there.

Just as she was about to ask the details, one of the receptionists greeted her, giving her a small envelope. Before walking away, she said her thanks.

On her way to the elevator, she opened the small envelope. Written there was her floor number and the passcode that she can change later. A smirk was then plastered on her mouth when she got in the elevator and pressed the 27th floor.

It took a moment but as soon as the elevator opened, she stepped out and hurried in front of their door. She made sure it was the right unit number as there were around four more doors. Now that she made sure it was the right one, she grinned, typing the passcode. But when it beeped, her grin is replaced with a frown.

"What the heck?" she murmurs. She typed the exact numbers written on the paper but why does it beep like that?

Hayley tried entering the passcode again and like the previous try, it beeped a wrong passcode, making her inhale sharply and blow it out. When she noticed there was also an option for the key, she took out her envelope to see if there was a key but there was none.

Just as she was about to dial her mother's number, the door opened revealing Kenji. Her brows instantly draw together at the sight of him. So that's why she could not get in, the devil was already in and changed their passcode. She had that idea in mind but it seemed like he figured it out first.

"Oh, such a distasteful look early in the morning," he said, showing a lopsided smile as he leaned to the left of the doorway. "You must be annoyed with the passcode. Sorry if I changed it ahead, I could not trust you."

"Whatever!" Hayley rolled her eyes and was about to step in when Kenji stood straight, narrowing the space of entry. With an annoyed face, she darted her killer eyes at him. "I am coming in! It's mine too!"

"There's space," he said, pointing the narrow space with his pouted lips. "You just have to squeeze in, I guess."

"Will you just please move away? I'm trying not to get annoyed by you so please damn step away before I kick you!"

But Kenji's grin just got wider and before she could do anything, he closed the door leaving her with wide eyes. She immediately held the door handle, turning it rashly but it won't open, setting fire in her eyes.

"Open the damn door, you idiot!" she yells, her fist banging on their door loudly. "I swear I am going to kill you Ken doll! I am going to burn you!"

"Ask me nicely. I might let you in!" Hayley could hear him laughing. "Do it or I'll get on with my unpacking. Oh, and your things are here too."

Pissed off, she tries to think of better ways but there were no better ways than do what this Kenji said. She was not expecting this is how her day is going to be with him.

"Please, let me in," she asked with a sweet voice but her face says otherwise. It seemed like her sweet voice worked since the door opened revealing the image of the devil with his wide grin. It made her grit her teeth.

"Welcome in, my lovely bride."

Before he would change his damn mind again, Hayley stepped inside twitching her upper lip. And as soon as he closed the door, she throw her fist at him. What she didn't expect was for him to catch her fist.

"Woah! You really don't joke around, hmm?" His eyes were twinkling at her. His charming stares could send some lady weak or fainting but not Hayley. To her, he is a womanizer!

Hayley was pulling her fist back but he would not let it go. She throws him a dirty stare, grunting at his playfulness.

"Let me go!"

But Kenji suddenly pulled her closer, almost making her fall to the floor but he was quick to catch her and she landed in his arms.

"Awe, my lovely bride wanted a hug."

Hayley immediately pushed Kenji away, throwing a death glare at the guy, her eyes glistening with anger. This guy is getting in her nerves! It is like Kenji has declared war between them, a battle of who will back out first.

"I know what you are doing! I know you are annoying me because you want me to leave and call the wedding off! But guess what? That won't happen!"

"Why are you getting so worked up early in the morning? Didn't you have a good sleep?"

"Tch, how could I when I know I'll be hell with you!"

"Easy there! I usually take girls to heaven. Just try me." Kenji winked that sent shivers down Hayley's spine, disgusted by the way he talks.

"We have a deal. Let's mind our own businesses. You can't cross my line nor will I cross yours! And don't talk to me!"

When she turned her back on him, that's when her eyes went round. Oh, shoot! She has not asked him about the passcode yet! She closed her eyes, biting her lower lip.  She turned back at Kenji who has a lizard-like smile on his face and his brows raised.

"What is our passcode?" she asked, looking sideways as Kenji started taking closer to her. Soon as he was in front of her, he brought his fingers near his chin, staring at her with a playful smile.

"Don't talk to me," he whispers, flicking her forehead and walking away from her and to the pile of boxes.

In the inside, Hayley had screamed her lungs out, her nose flaring. Damn it! How is she supposed to get in and out when she does not have a key nor the damn passcode! If she's going to tell her parents about this, they'll probably dismiss it and tell her it's a good opportunity to get closer to Kenji. No!

Hayley decided to think it over before even apologizing to that Ken doll to get the passcode. Oh, there are better things she has to do. Unpacking her things will take her the whole day, especially without Cristy's help.

Kenji in their living room pretends to be listening to music as he texts people. But every once in a while, he would take a glimpse at his bride-- his feisty bride. Hayley was damn busy with some of her boxes, carrying them to her room and back to carry another. He would love to help but he is following her rule so he is taking the time, enjoying his little bride.

Sooner or later, he knows she will be needing the passcode for her to sneak in and out to her beloved boyfriend. It made a corner of his mouth lift.

Since last night, he couldn't keep the excitement he was feeling and so early in this morning, he is here. The receptionist gave him an envelope and he knew they would give Hayley one. In order to get Hayley's key, he flirted with the receptionist and he has it. Now all he needs to do is wait for Hayley to give up.

After Hayley's last box, Kenji saw her going to the kitchen and when she didn't return, he figured she was cooking. Ah, yes, it was lunchtime. He would love to help her but he has to meet up with Andrea.

Sighing, he put down his feet and stand up, making his way to the kitchen where Hayley was busy cutting her ingredients. To annoy her before he leaves, he quickly and silently went to her side, wrapping an arm around her waist. It startled Hayley, pointing the knife at him that made him leaned back a little but his arm remained where it was.

"Get your hand off or I will cut it off!" she warns him with squinted eyes.

"I like dangerous women."

"I'm serious!"

"I know." He let go but still kept close. He glances at her slicing skills and it wasn't that bad but still bad. "I am going to meet someone. I will be home late."

"What in the 'mind our own businesses' do you not understand, Ken doll?"

They stayed looking at each other for seconds until he glances away, nodding his head slowly as he turn his back on her. Well, it isn't the interaction that he wanted to have but never mind it, he had annoyed her enough.

"Later, my lovely bride!" He shouts before closing the door behind him. Even now that he is outside, he could hear her shouting that made him laugh. "I can live with her. She just has to stay with her rules."

At Andrea's unit, he welcomed himself in and saw his lunch served on the bed. Andrea is giving him a sexy smile while she uncovers her naked body.

"And here I thought, you wanted to talk about something," he tells her, resting his back on the door. "I moved in today just as I told you."

"We can talk after you have your lunch."

Kenji started walking towards Andrea and sat on the bed. And like the old times, she slowly moved her hand between his thighs, starting the party. He is not the type to dig in easily but he is damn bored, might as well have a little fun.

Right after their fun, they both lay on the bed, facing the ceiling as they catch breaths. Andrea was about to snuggle when he sat up. Lately, he has noticed how she's been demanding his time and the way she wants to be closer to him. That's dangerous.

"So, how was your condo? How's your bride?" Andrea asked, her voice sounding disapproval.

"I'm trying to get her to back out. We dislike each other and she has a lover. I think she's doing this for him. It's pitiful."

"Aren't you bothered that you will be marrying someone you do not have feelings for?"

Kenji glances at Andrea who was gazing at him, her eyes were sparkling, almost begging for him to marry her instead.

"I told you. I only need the money I will be getting and she is the same. Our marriage is our freedom. We stay tied but our strings are loosened."
