47. True friends

Roseline's POV

For the past half an hour, I have been busy decorating the wall for the celebration.

Liam left me alone by saying that he needed to look after something else. But I know there isn't anything. He just needed an excuse to run away from work. It has been his habit since childhood. He runs away after giving his work to someone else.

I didn't mind either. I love doing it.

As I reached the upper half of the wall, I realized my hands couldn't reach that high. So, I grabbed a stool and positioned it next to the wall before climbing up on it.

As I stretched my body to reach the corner, my ankle suddenly twisted, causing me to lose my balance. Desperately, I reached out for something to hold onto, but all I managed to grab was a frill that tore in the middle. The stool on which I was standing also lost its balance and I started falling back. The ground seemed to rush towards me as I prepared for a painful impact.

With my eyes tightly shut, I braced myself, fearing the worst.
