Chapter 81

Lucy's pov;

The entire car ride went silent except for the sound of the wind rushing around us through the open window and the radio. When I looked at him, he was focused on driving in a way that showed how anxious he felt inside. When it got to the point where he couldn't take the silence any longer, he broke it. "Rupert said he found something." He gave me a sideways glance before turning his eyes back onto the road and continuing. "So I'm meeting him tomorrow. I know you might not want to come with me, but remember that this is about Tyler and not us. I have a feeling that This could be important." Since I didn't reply, he said, "Anyway, if anything goes wrong-" he glanced over at me again - "Are you listening to me?"

I ignored him and looked outside the window again.

His voice lowered, "Look, it's okay to say no if you're not interested."

I just kept looking out my window, ignoring him again.

"Only if you speak, I'll..."
