The word instantly stopped her heart, and she became paralyzed with fear. When the man's thumb crept up her neck, she felt her body shiver. He didn't press too firmly, but just enough that she could feel it against her veins.

"When Angeline said Dave had made you one of his properties, I thought she was just lying. She's not usually made it sound easy in this sort of thing, and anyway, what is it about you that means so much to him that he would share the attention that usually belongs to my sister."

Kiara swallowed hard. The way the man looked at her gave her goosebumps all over her body. Bright green eyes, lit up in the darkness, like those of a predator enjoying the terrified look of its prey. as if it amused him more than when to devour her, consume her fear a little at a time.
