52. Tangled together

Lucifer knelt down without the slightest resistance; it almost looks like he was delighted to do it.

Daniel removed the iron cuffs. Lucifer brought his gaze down; both of his palms were on the floor. He spoke the moment he looked up to meet her eyes: "For all the wrong I did to you that night, please accept my apologies. Will you forgive me, Kiara?"

He did this on Alpha Dave's orders, to get him to admit his mistake in front of everyone. But the way he spoke made it personal, as if he were doing it sincerely from the bottom of his heart. Hiw words sounded honeyed, impossible the way he could sound this soft to her.

She took some time before answering, but it seemed to make Lucifer impatient. He reached for the hem of her dress, held it tightly, and brought it closer to his chest, "Please,"
