Melinda smirked. She tightened her hold on Eiger’s arm.

She was the mistress, but it did not matter because everyone was giving her their blessings.

Melinda gave Eiger a quick glance before feigning concern and saying, “Eiger, North lives on her own and doesn’t have a driver. It is almost 9 p.m., and she is still not here. I worry that—”

Eiger frowned and said, “You don’t have to care about her. Her absence is none of your business. Even if she dropped out of college, you need not be concerned.”

“That’s right, Melinda. Do you really think Eiger should pick her up? There is no way I will let that country bumpkin dirty his luxury car,” said Lilac.

Lilac was furious as she had been kicked out of Dew Garden the day before, so she could not resist bad-mouthing North in front of everyone today.

“That b*tch should know her place! Is she expecting to travel around in luxury cars? I think she’s only fit to take the bus!”

Melinda shook her head helplessly and said, “Okay, Lilac, stop wi
