Alexa's POV

Last night was so hectic for me. I could not come out of my room or go anywhere because, apparently, the Alpha told everyone I was sick and could not make it to the ceremony. I had stayed in my room all night, reading and trying to get my mind off everything that was going on outside.

I woke up this morning trying to push through and overcome all odds because that's what I have always done, and it's nothing new. I got ready on my own and headed outside. When I got outside my room, I noticed the way people were staring at me and murmuring to each other. It's making me feel quite uncomfortable. Different thoughts start running through my mind.

Why are they staring at me this way? Is it because I didn't hold the ceremony together with the Alpha yesterday? Although not hosting the ceremony should not cause this much unrest since the Alpha already told them I was sick. Were they not supposed to greet me and ask about my health?
