Chapter 27

Rayne's POV

After breakfast ended, I knew that I had to speak with Kaiden. The decision was against my better judgment, but I needed to speak to him regarding the rogues. I had little say in the whole alliance with Oceanpearl now, but I could at least still keep up with the promises that I had made.

Thankfully, Savannah had somewhere to be, and Bradford just vanished like some sort of shadow. This gave us the space we needed.

Kaiden looked around the dining hall, downing the last drops of wine in his cup.

“We have some things to discuss,” I said quietly.

Some omegas had come to pick up the plates we used to eat. One came so close to me that I could smell the uneasiness flowing off her in waves. I looked up to get a look at her face, but she quickly turned around at the same time, and dashed out of the hall, barely holding on to the plates in her hand. The others followed suit shortly after, leaving just Kaiden and I in the hall.
