My gaze fell on the moon as I tilt my head back to gulp down my drink in one go.

My wolf called out to me happily and I jerked back to a more polite posture on the seat.

I searched the crowded room with the hope of finding anyone that looks like my mate but I found and felt nothing with no one.

With Vickie sitting right beside me and a broad smile on her face, I thought for one second that I could settle for her and take her home with me tonight. To mark her as mine of the moon goddess refuses to grant me and my brother a mate.

“Arnold?” A distant voice sounded in my ears and then my vision became clearer. I realize I should stop drinking… I didn’t know I had been staring at Vickie’s face lost in my drunken thoughts until she called out to me.

I dropped the cup on the table and searched the room for Aiden but seems he was long gone as well.

The night is for everyone else and not us.

With that, I left the grand hall for the silent street that leads to the mansion.
