Thirty Four

RYLEE

Bewildered, I continued to stare at my glowing hands. I was stunned to silence. No one said a word until the strange white glow vanished and my hands went back to normal.

"I don't understand. I am certainly not a magic practitioner," I said when I found my voice.

"We have no clue either, Rylee. We are just as surprised as you are," Jared said and I frowned.

"Does this mean that I have magic in me?"

"It's possible," Vincent said and I ran my fingers through my hair, feeling dazed. Never in my life did I imagine that I would have magic. How was I supposed to use it when I didn't know how it worked? My parents were werewolves. I was certain that they had never shown any signs of possessing magic.

"Maybe, they hid it from you?" Vincent suggested.

I frowned, looking up to meet his gaze.

"How did you...Did you just read my mind?" I asked.

"That would have been great. But, no... I didn't. You thought about your parents out loud,"

I sighed, my gaze lingering on the palms of my hand. I
