VINCENT

It was raining and I was soaked. It was the first thing I registered as soon as I awakened. I looked up at the night sky, blinking to clear my blurry vision. Disoriented, I rose to my feet and looked around me. I was in the woods close to my territory. Everything that had happened right before I'd passed out returned to my memory and I felt the urgency to find Rylee.

I had regretted leaving her to return to the pack house alone. But, before I could get back to her, the blue pill had kicked in.

Frustrated, I reached out for her through the mate bond.

'Where are you?' I asked. She did not respond. I could feel her annoyance. It made me realize that she wasn't responding to me on purpose. So, I mind linked Zeke, asking him if Rylee was at the pack.

'She returned not too long ago. She said she was being chased,' was his response.
