Destined for eternity

Rachael's POV

I rested my head on Justin's shoulders with our hands entwined, as we sat on the bare floor in my room.

For a moment, we didn't speak. We just moved our fingers around, and I pecked him on the cheek at intervals.

"Are you in a relationship with Jake?" Justin asked, out of the blue, breaking the beautiful silence that we enjoyed for about five minutes.

"It's complicated," I answered, sighing.

"Why is it complicated?"

"Well, you already know why I chose Jake, but Jake doesn't know. And I feel so afraid to tell him the truth."

"I should be glad that there's nothing between the both of you, but that's only from your point of view. You need to tell Jake the truth." Justin said, placing a kiss on my forehead.

He was right, I do need to tell him.

I can't drag it any longer. If I did… I would only be hurting Jake more.

"I will, I will tell him, but for now, could we not talk about any other thing, and just let it be about us both?"
