Her Memories - Part II

“I miss her,” I sniffed as I finally started calming down after crying for who knows how long. “I miss her so much. Why did she have to go away so suddenly!”

“I miss her too. Every day, every night. I miss her with every breath I take. But everybody has to leave one day, and your mother left a little early.” I looked up and he offered me a glum smile.

“But I know she would want us to live on. Happily, in peace. But that doesn’t mean we won’t miss her.” I looked down wiping my eyes with the back of my hand.

“What about you, father?” I asked in a low voice.

He sighed and his eyes fixated on her picture. “She is in everything I am. And trying to accept the reality that she is gone feels like I’m trying to swallow burning lava. But I know, eventually, I will accept the fact. I will try and eventually get used to living in a world where she doesn’t exist.” He smiled woefully at the picture. “We lived a happy and good life. Filled with love, happiness, and blessings. She built me from somet
