Chapter Five

Kayden’s pov.

The look in Ramona's eyes showed hurt, and pain, but it seemed like the spell she thought she had on me was over.

Grinding my teeth against each other, I swallowed, fisting my arms at the words that just left my lips.

“You never owned me Ramona, and stop with the threats before I change my mind. I might let you be dragged out here if you don't control that little temper of yours, do you understand me?” I asked with raised brows, making her frown.

Her face turned pale, and her lips trembled like never before.

I noticed that Ramona wasn't still convinced.

“What has that witch done to you?” She asked, allowing tears well up in her eyes, which caused me to chuckle darkly.

First off, she was being a distraction, and now, she was trying to get into where she would never be allowed into.

The thought of it was really funny, and I found it really weakening that she was using her tears against me.

“I made you groan, you fucked me mercilessly. I did all you asked. What happened to the love you once showed me. I let you choose her, but I never expected her to take you away,” She explained, making me scoff.

“You're so desperate Ramona,” I explained, still staring at the screen of my laptop. “And know this. I didn't need your permission to bring her into the house,” I explained, making her sniffle.

“Like I said before I don't see a need  to keep talking to you. All we have is over, staring from the moment I brought her into this house.”

I didn't bother to look at her. However, her scent, and her nagging made me aware she was still in the room.

Ramona was strong willed. She wasn't someone who gave up easily, so she defied my orders, thinking things were still the same.

“Listen to me, Alpha Kayden. I'm not going to let one little–”

I interrupted her words. “Do you actually think I don't know your plans? I didn't invite you into my life. You pushed your way in, forcing me to have you, and now that I've had enough you think it's my fault?” I finally raised my blue eyes to stare into hers.

Ramona was still pale from the shock she got from my words.

“I don't believe we are through. That's not what you told me,” she explained, shaking her head. “I asked you if that girl would affect our relationship, and you–”

I cut in again. “And what did I say?” I asked her, recalling I didn't utter any words of assurance to her at that point.

She shook her head, unable to believe my words. However, we were both interrupted by the knock on the door.

“Come in, and make sure you get this Garbage out. I'm trying to concentrate on this work, and she keeps distracting me with her words,” I ordered the other person at the other side of the door which got her confused.

Her eyes darted around when she noticed that two guards came into my study with a serious look on their faces.

Ramona gasped, turning back to me almost immediately. “What are you thinking?” She asked, moving closer to the table. However, the guards grabbed her hands.

Glaring at me, Ramona struggled with the guards, but she wasn't as strong as them.

Her time with me was over, and that was it. I needed to focus on the job that I was doing, but she was a distraction.

“LET ME GO!” She yelled at the guards, struggling until they got to the door.

I was still typing on my laptop when I spoke. “Let her go. I think she knows the way to the exit now,” I explained, making them immediately lose their grip which caused her to wince.

I didn't care, so I just waved my hands, urging all of them to leave so I can finally concentrate on the huge work I had at hand.

As soon as she left the office, my wolf began to speak to me which caused me to growl.

“Are you sure that girl isn't our mate? You didn't touch her last night, but the scent you inhaled made you reject your bed warmer,” He explained, but I  growled.

“I don't know. I just really need time to figure it–”

“You didn't sleep last night because your body craved to touch the girl, you know that right?” He asked, making everything worse for me.

“I DON'T KNOW!!!” I growled in anger. I knew there were a lot of things that could happen at this point. I didn't even care how everything was going. All I cared about was having an heir to take over my empire.

My wolf, still not willing to give up until I admitted things were a bit fishy happened.

“You were disgusted by her. Do you understand?” He asked, making me growl.

I knew Ramona's presence disgusted me, but maybe It was because I wasn't ready for anything sexually related.

“You said you never want to see her again. Isn't that enough sign?” He asked, and I immediately blocked him.

I was breathing hard, and I clenched the table with my fingers, gnashing my teeth against each other.

The pressure I was feeling when I recalled her scent. Yet, there was no proof of a mate bound.

Was it because I had registered I wouldn't find a mate, or was it because of the scented oils she was bathed with last night that caused her to be so damn attractive?.

Sighing, I shook everything else to focus on my work. My pack was only moving forward because of the level of concentration I had.

However, halfway through the work, I discovered that I drifted off again, which caused me to be worried.

I decided to release my wolf in order to hear him speak, but I warned him.

“Don't say anything about the girl again because we have to get a lot of things done, and talking about her wouldn't help us finish the huge workload.”

As I was about to focus, Julius, my beta barged into my office looking worried.

“Alpha, we got a problem.”
