Forty six

Irina’s POV

I try the handle; it was no surprise to find it locked. A chill runs over me, I knew he was behind me before I turned around. Slowly turning, I see him leaning against the stair railing. His hands in his pockets, freshly shaven and wearing a shirt and jeans. 

His eyes do not meet mine; he keeps his gaze slightly lowered. 

“I am truly sorry for what I did”

I stay rooted to the spot. I couldn’t tell if he was being genuine or not. “Y…You cannot apologise for something like that.”

Looking around, there was no where for me to escape. I was trapped here with him.

“It is not something I can control Irina. You don’t understand. You were promised to me, and my wolf and I have been waiting a long time for you.”

Ivan holds a frown, which was puzzling me. He didn’t have anything to frown about, he wasn't the victim.

“Are you going to try that again?”

“I don’t intend to”
