Chapter 9

Evelyn's POV

My brain paused for a moment as I rephrased through the name Miss Rosa mentioned. No doubt, I've heard it somewhere.

“Show some respect.’’ I heard Miss Rosa snap behind me.

I quickly bowed my head in deference to him.

“Greetings Alpha”

“Thank you, Rosa” I heard his melodious voice respond.

“Raise your heads.” he commanded.

It was then I realized I had been the only one looking into his face when he came in earlier.

I sighed inwardly, lifting my face.

“Remind me of your name,” Miss Rosa inquired.

‘’It's Evelyn.’’ I answered.

“Go with the Alpha, he wants to see you.’’ She ordered and nervousness built up in me.

I swallowed nervously as I turned to him, his eyes were still on me and a pang of discomfort overwhelmed me.

Who is he? What is going on? What am I supposed to think?

If I'm becoming a maid then there's no way I could have been sold to another Alpha.
