The night

Bella’s POV

I grabbed ahold of my napkin and gently dabbed my lips that now had Alfredo all over them. I tried to act indifferent as I wiped my mouth like I was a proper princes.

“I think you forgot a little on your cheek.” Lucas stated as he pointed to the right side of my face. My cheeks heated up as I quickly wiped my face a little more thoroughly, not wanting to miss anything.

The rough cloth napkin didn’t feel like it belonged in this restaurant or maybe I was the one that didn’t belong. I hadn’t seen anyone really use their napkin besides for their lips.

I set my napkin down and looked at Lucas with a forced smile. He hadn’t even bothered to touch his food. He was too busy staring at me intently, telling me that he was probably judging me.

“You should eat your food before it gets cold.” I stated as I grabbed my fork and looked back down at my food.

I was more careful this time in making sure I didn’t just stuff my face. I pushed the fork into the pasta like my father h
