15: The Hunting Mirror

ASHER’S POV

Stumbling out of Kiara’s parents’ house, the evening air did little to clear my head. ‘What’s happening to me?’ I muttered. The question hung unanswered as I descended towards my men, who promptly bowed before me.

I ignored their greetings and mounted my horse, setting out once again. The world was like a watercolor painting, with its edges bleeding into each other. At the center of it all was Lisa—or was it Kiara? The uncertainty was maddening.

"Who are you, really?" I whispered into the void, half-expecting an answer, but was met with silence.

I tried to focus on the path ahead, but my grip tightened around the reins of my horse. As I rode back to the pack, my mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.

Lisa's presence continued to gnaw at me, each moment spent away from her only intensifying the turmoil within. Yet, despite the chaos, a part of me couldn't help but be drawn to her.
