A gnawing unease clung to me, an insidious shadow that refused to be shaken off. My thoughts were ensnared by the absence of my brother, Jonas. His sudden disappearance was a mystery that haunted my waking hours. I wondered if he had taken my last warning to heart and left, but I needed to be sure if that was the case.
