Delibration

“To kill or save, the future cannot be delayed but history also cannot be denied”

“Mom, what later happened to Amelia?” Marcus asked halfheartedly as he had begun to fall asleep after listening to his bedtime story

“Amelia gave birth to three children which developed into the three major families we have in the clan now, the Fault family which your father belongs to, the Fillion family which I came from and the Fara family which your best friend Jasmine belong to.” Genevieve explained with a smile as she tucked her son into bed

“Tomorrow is my seventh birthday what kind of blessing do you think I’ll get from the Hunter god?” Marcus asked but this time his words had more spirit in them

“The blessing of the Hunter god is totally unpredictable so we can only wait.” Genevieve replied

“Okay, goodnight mom.” Marcus said with a yawn

“Goodnight honey.” Genevieve replied as she switched off his lamp and headed out to the sitting room to meet her husband who was sitting on the sofa with his legs on the center table.

“What was tonight’s bedtime tale?” Eric asked softly

“His favorite, The First Hunter.” Genevieve replied with a smile as she sat next to him, her 5’5” petite body seemed really small when compared to his six foot body builder’s frame, Eric wrapped his arm around his wife and she snuggled in his arms resting her head on his broad chest.

“What kind of power do you think Marcus will get from the Hunter god’s blessing?” Genevieve asked softly

“To be honest I really pray he doesn’t get anything too powerful.” Eric replied with a sigh

“You’re probably the first parent to make that prayer.” Genevieve said with a chuckle and Eric laughed dryly

“We both know the reason for that.” He said and it was Genevieve’s turn to sigh

“Don’t worry, remember my father is one of the utmost exalted elders, I’m sure he won’t sit back and watch with folded arms.” Genevieve said and Eric nodded grimly

“I hope so.” Eric said almost to himself

At the same time in a small room were six people all seated around a rectangular table, two sat on one side, two sat on the other side while two sat at the edges, all six of them had the appearance of middle aged men but they were all Hunters who have lived for over two hundred years, they all had the aura of otherworldly experts but one of them was even more magnificent than the rest as he had the airs of a ruler even though he wasn’t clad in his royal garb the aura he was exuding wasn’t something that could be disguised or hidden by causal wears, he was the Ruler of the Hunter Race commonly known as Hunter King while the other five were the Utmost Exalted Elders of the race, they served as advisers to the Hunter king and were directly in charge of affairs if the king was unavailable but currently the small conference room was in chaos as all five utmost exalted elders were arguing wildly, only the king was silent with his eyes closed as though all that was happening was unrelated to him, the arguments skyrocketed violently as it got to a stage where they started cursing each other like aunties in a market place.

“Are you all done?” a voice said softly but it reverberated within the soul of everyone present making them go silent as the one who spoke was naturally the king.

“Sword Saint Predator, Flame Heart Predator, White Haired Predator, Steel Fist Predator, Thousand Night Predator. I’ve called you all to this unofficial meeting tonight because I’d like to hear your personally view on that issue not to just bicker amongst yourselves like ordinary people.” The king said, calling the names of each of the utmost exalted elders present starting with those on the right hand part of the table to those on the left hand part and lastly the one at the far edge.

“Your majesty, my stance remains the same either as an official or personally, that glass-eyed monster must be killed before he becomes strong and destroys us all.” White-haired predator said with a slight bow but Sword-saint predator instantly grew mad as he slammed his hand on the table

“My grandson is not a monster.” He yelled in rage

“Sword-saint, you aren’t thinking things through, you’re letting your emotion cloud your judgment.” Steel-Fist Predator said calmly but mocked him internally

“Steel-fist while what you say makes sense I think Sword-saint still has a point, killing a child just because of such trivialities seems utterly absurd.” Flame-heart predator replied Steel-fist predator with a sneer

“It seems Flame-heart has forgotten the history lessons we got when we were still basic Hunters, the only times glass-eyed Hunters appeared, they almost destroyed the entire race single handedly, unless you want a replay of the Great Massacre I’d advise we end the kid to avoid future troubles.” White-haired predator said grimly

“What if having white eyes and destroying everyone was just a coincidence, won’t the kid have died in vain?” Flame-heart replied instantly

“History repeated itself twice, I doubt that’s more than a coincidence.” Steel-fist interjected

“We only heard one part of the story, we don’t even know why they decided to massacre everyone, for all I know it had to have a reason, a reason that the survivors hid out of shame or guilt.” Flame-heart retorted

“I don’t care if it was a coincidence or not but if anything should happen to my grandson, you won’t need a glass-eyed hunter to create a third Great Massacre.” Sword-saint said coldly and the temperature of the room seemed to drop a few degrees

“Sword-saint, do you know the meaning of what you just said?” White-haired predator asked in shock

“Your majesty, I think I have an idea.” Thousand-nights Predator who had been silent the whole time suddenly spoke up and a soft sigh escaped the King’s lips

“Speak up Thousand-nights.” The king said and everyone’s attention was instantly on Thousand-nights predator

“We all know that even though one’s talent and dedication usually dictates how strong a Hunter will grow, we should also remember that the type of ability he has will determine a lot in how far he’ll grow. The former glass-eyed Hunters almost brought about total annihilation to us Hunters but it must also be noted that they had overpowered abilities, so I say why don’t we wait till after he receives his blessing, if it’s a normal or weak type then there is no cause for alarm but if it’s overpowered then we will find a way to take care of the situation.” Thousand-nights predator said calmly and a thoughtful look appeared on everyone’s face

“As expected of someone who wields the time element, you sure possess the wisdom of ages.” Steel-fist predator said with a beaming smile, they deliberated over the issue for a few moments more but all ended up agreeing with Thousand-nights after which the King dismissed them and they all left one after the other.

Not long after the last utmost exalted elder left a young lady walked in, she was a perfect definition of seductive beauty, she had a perfect hourglass shape, a pale and flawless skin, a midnight hair that fell down to her waist and full plum lips that was more than enough to send countless men into frenzy, she walked to towards the King in a graceful manner that almost seemed as though she was floating.

“Why are you so worried, don’t tell me you’re actually afraid of Sword-Saint Predator?” She asked in a very seductive voice as she walked towards him

“Sword-saint’s reputation as the most skilled Hunter alive right now is not unfounded, the amount of people that could go toe to toe with him are less than the finger on a right hand but if he really rebelled and decided to go on a killing spree I think we should be able to subdue him even though it won’t be easy.” The King said with a sigh

“Then what are you afraid of?” the woman asked, this time she was already sitting on the table directly in front of him swinging her legs in a carefree manner

“What I’m scared of is that person in the Fault family, if he really decides to act out because he felt his great-grandchild was treated unfairly then there will be absolutely no one who can stop him.” The King said bitterly and the woman frowned slightly

“I thought he is in a slumber.” The woman said and the King shook his head bitterly

“That’s what I thought too.” The king said with a deep sigh as an expression of lingering fear surfaced on his face.
