I’m too late. The smell of death smacks me in my face and I can hardly breath. He wouldn’t. They wouldn’t. I say it over and over like a mantra in my head as I race towards my home, where my wife and two daughters wait for me. They are well protected. I have ten of my best and fiercest delta wolves as our personal guard. No Lycan can take down all of my staff, but more than one Lycan sways the odds dramatically in their favour. My strong wolf legs drive me forwards and I leap over the Northern perimeter wall of my garden. I land in a cold congealed puddle of blood. Stephan’s headless body lays ripped to pieces at my feet. His head is nowhere to be seen.
I raise my snout into the air and the scent of Lycan scum is overpowering. ‘Anna, where are you?’ She hasn’t answered me though the mind link in over half an hour. The last words from her to enter my mind were her blood curdling screams and begs for help. My heart thumps furiously behind my huge, strong, wolf ribcage. I try and keep the panic that threatens to overwhelm my mind at bay long enough to formulate some kind of plan. I stay absolutely still and listen to the noises that float to my ears on the soft breeze. Nothing accept bugs move and make noise. My house is deadly silent. My walls crumble and blind panic takes control of every part of me.
I run full speed towards my house while my mind screams out and my heart aches from the silence that echoes in my head. Please, I beg you Moon Goddess, I cannot bear the pain of losing them. I soundlessly plead with our Moon Mother for the safe discovery of my family. I have never pleaded with anyone. I am the Alpha and I answer to only the few that are held above me. The door of my house is nothing but a gaping hole and the window has been smashed outwards onto the stairs. Sharp shards of glass cut into the pads of my paws as I race on undeterred into my home. I stop cold on the blood smeared floor of the foyer. A soul broken howl leaves my throat and I scream silently in my mind. Anna’s headless body lays at the foot of the stairs. My wife has been murdered savagely in cold blood.
I shift mid-air, going from wolf to man in the blink of an eye. I slip, blinded by tears, and stumble towards my headless love. My body aches from grief and I drop to my knees next to the Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack. Beta Silas erupts through the cavernous hole that was once a door. ‘Alpha, no! I’m so sorry.’ I cut him off. ‘Find my daughters, now!’ I scream voicelessly. He starts to shift as he walks towards me. His huge wolf body shrinks before my eyes. His bones snap and retreat back into his body along with his thick brown fur. He stands naked for a moment and a tear rolls down his cheek. With a quick bow of his head he leaps over me and the corpse in my arms.
Time seems to stand still as I sit on the floor cradling the lifeless body of my mate. I have never cried before today and my eyes sting with every single one that is shed. Silas appears before me dressed in some loose grey pants and a red t-shirt. In his arms is a white and red sheet which he holds close to his chest. ‘Alpha, I don’t know how to say this.’ The fear in his voice brings me back to the present and my eyes clear from the fog of tears. I realise in horror that his t-shirt is in fact white. The red is from the blood that has soaked through the sheet and into his clothes.
He does not speak again. He kneels before me at the feet of my wife. I shake my head in disbelief and horror as he places the body of my fifteen-year-old daughter in to my lap. Her tiny figure is limp and grows colder with each second that passes. My youngest daughter, Crystal, has been robbed of her life and my heart blackens further from the pure anger that runs into my veins. My grief starts to shift towards rage and I look up from the bodies of my perished loved ones. ‘Where is Selene?’ I demand. Silas shifts uncomfortably on his knees. ‘We can’t find her body Alpha.’
I try and understand what he has just said to me. How can they not find her dead body? I cannot sense her anywhere in the house or grounds. The scent of her blood is strong all through the foyer and even more pronounced on the wind that blows in from the garden. You could hear a pin drop as deafening silence extends before us both. I glare at him across the mounds of bodies between us. I push my aura down onto him and his wolf. He winces in pain and I hear his wolf whimper. ‘I tracked her scent to the tree line Alpha, but then it’s like she just disappeared.’ His face is twisted in pain and his words come in short bursts as he struggles to breath under the pressure of my aura as I push down harder on him.
‘Then she may not be dead!’ I say aloud. It was more of a thought than a statement but it makes Silas jerk his head up to meet my eyes. ‘Alpha, there is lots of her blood, both in the house and across the garden. I don’t see how she could have survived such an attack when even Anna was unable to protect herself.’ I know what he says is true but I also know my daughter. ‘If you haven’t found her body then there is still a chance Silas. Call the rest of the delta’s and start a search for her. I don’t care how long it takes. No one rests until she is found. Dead or alive.’ He knows better than to argue or try and persuade me otherwise. ‘All of the delta’s?’ His shock apparent in the tone of his question. ‘Every. Single. One.’
He leaves me alone with just my thoughts and the stiffening corpses of my family. The sound of my sisters voice breaks through the cloud of grief that has surrounded me. ‘Cline. Cline. We need to get you off the floor. The police will be here any minute. Hurry up for goodness sakes. The last thing we need is your picture splashed across the front of every bloody newspaper tomorrow.’ The shrillness of her voice makes me shudder. I look up and see her anxious face above me. She carefully picks Anna up out of my arms and Silas picks up Crystal. They lay them side by side on the floor. Their blood is now dry on the floor which has turned dark brown. Sapphire, or Saph as she is called by her nearest, turns to me with tears streaming down her face. ‘We will kill the cowards who have done this Cline. Even if it takes the rest of my life. I will see them dead at my feet.’ She puts a shirt around my shoulders and I mindlessly step in to the pair of trousers she holds out before me like a toddler.
She takes me by the shoulder and pushes me up the stairs. Blood is spread throughout the upstairs of my home like a pot of red paint has exploded. A small red hand print has been swiped down the wall near Crystals bedroom. Her once white carpet is crimson from all her spilt blood. Crystal was a gentle soul who didn’t deserve to die in such a horrifically violent way. More tears threaten to burst from my eyes. When we reach my room Saph orders me to take my clothes off and she places them into a brown paper bag. She nods at me and I turn from her and go into the ensuite bathroom. I need to wash the dried blood from my body. It has made my skin tight and the smell of them covers me from head to toe. The bathroom is a huge white room with an enormous shower in one corner. I walk slowly across the cold, hard floor, my body is exhausted from the last few hours. Every step echoes around the cavernous room. I push a few buttons on the control pad and steamy hot water gushes instantly from the overhead outlet. I step into the steam of hot water and start to rub at my body and my tears mix unseen with the water that runs down my face.
I watch as clumps of dried blood fall off of my legs and drop to the wet floor. The water turns from clear, to pink to red. So much blood that the water runs thick with the small amount that has stuck to me, and I feel like I will never rid my body of the heaviness that now burdens my entire being. I will hunt down and torture the Lycans who have done this. I will have to go and see my High Alpha Cronin to explain the whole situation. I know he will be angry and I will be punished for my actions. I acted without his consent, but I will not stand by while business’s are being ruined and my pack picked off one by one. My mind is focused on only one other thing. Where is my daughter? Where is Selene?
Silas The entirety of our delta force stands congregated before me. They have been called from their posts at our borders and any protective detail they have been assigned to. Our Alpha needs us and we will all answer his call. ‘We have one objective.’ I bark at the one hundred wolves before me. ‘We find Selene and we bring her home.’ In unison they raise their heads to the sky and howl. No one tries to destroy our pack and no one fucks with our Alpha or his family. They split off and zigzag in every direction. The Alpha’s thanks and gratitude is on the line and every wolf wants the glory of finding Selene alive and returning her home to her father. How could we have been so naïve to think that Blood Moon Pack wouldn’t react with such violence? I think we underestimated their want for vengeance, and how the loss of face to their King would affect their response. No one could have thought they would retaliate the very same night. But the level of violence and the fact
CroninI watch as all the Alpha’s of the Alliance arrive. They are quick to answer my call as they should be. The news of tonight’s events will have spread like wildfire through all the pack’s. My mood darkens further when the unmistakable stretch limousine of the Lycan King, flanked each side by riders on motorbikes and tailed by four black SUV’s, pulls through the gate. The last SUV parks off to the side of the gate and I see two Lycans get out of the car. Even in their human form they cannot hide what they are. The way they move gives them away. I didn’t expect the King himself to attend tonight’s meeting, maybe that dreadful Alpha Lucius who is the local authority for him. How did he get here so quickly when he lives hours away from here? My mind flicks back to the club and her warm tight pussy. I need to see Nerissa again and soon. I could kill Alpha Cline myself. To bring this kind of heat and pressure down on me and all the Alpha’s of the Alliance is unheard of
Cronin‘Please, High Alpha, don’t let them kill him!’ Her voice screams into my head as I descend away from the growls and snarls that ring through the entrance hall above me. ‘I will try my best Sapphire.’ I will, but I don’t know what I can do to help. He is the one that I answer to I do not have the strength to challenge his decisions. The way my Alpha’s have to respect and obey me is the same for me to the King. Do they not realise this. He is in charge, he is the one calling the shots.Below ground in the darkness and privacy the earth provides, I have made a huge arena. The main area is two storeys tall and a wide-open space that is easily as long and wide as a football pitch. At one end is a Bar for happier occasions, like birthdays, when huge celebrations fill the place with laughter and music. It the very middle is a large circular pit that sinks three metres further into the ground. The pit is where grudges and bad blood can be fought out fairly, between the two opposing par
Cline The cold iron hits my wrists and a jolt of pain radiates up each of my arms. I grit my teeth together so I don’t make a noise. I won’t give the Lycan King the satisfaction. The clink of the chains tinkle in my ears as my wrists are wrenched sharply away from my body. My arms are slowly winched higher and higher in time to the squeak of the handle being turned. The chains drag along the ground to the two huge, solid posts that are situated in the very middle of the stage. My shirt rips from a nail head that protrudes from the wooden floor. The ringing in my head makes it hard to concentrate on what is happening around me. I can sense the other Alpha’s holding their breath. None of them were brave enough to take a stand like I did, and now I know why. I don’t feel brave at all, instead I am the shell of the man I was this morning. I am destroyed. My arms start to rise from the floor as the winch pulls me up towards the posts. The last time these posts were used fo
Cline ‘Twenty your Majesty?’ Lord twat face responds incredulously and I could laugh if not for the seriousness of my situation. ‘Yes Lucius unless you disagree with your King? You have already murdered his wife and two daughters. If he survives this then that is a pain he will need to live with for the rest of his life, however long that may be.’ I hear him huff and sit down heavily on a chair. Of course he wouldn’t miss this. All the years of underhanded tactics to outdo each other in business has come down to this. Death. Too much death for something as simple as money and pride. I would rather be poor and a coward but still have my family by my side. ‘Solomon, you will deliver the punishment.’ The King declares and I hear him take his seat. No one stands to defend me. Not a single man or woman amongst my kin will call out this barbaric King on the death sentence he just handed me. I am the only one who is stupid enough to go against the Lycan’s and this punishment
DameonHuge lumps of his pink flesh fall in ragged lumps heavily to the floor. ‘Eighteen’ Another crack of the whip shatters the silence in the enormous room. Little speckles of his warm red blood spray the ten or so meters and land on my hands. I have to watch the punishment. If I were to turn away now then it would be a sign of weakness. I look at Lucius out of the corner of my eyes and his smile sends a shiver down my spine. His eyes glaze over from satisfaction at the awful sight in front of him. Maybe I should have sentenced the foolish wolf to death. It would have been kinder than putting him through this drawn-out execution. ‘Nineteen.’ He doesn’t move between lashes now. I’m pretty sure he lost consciousness around number fourteen. I’m astonished he didn’t even scream out in pain, not even once. It’s not often you meet a werewolf with such a high pain threshold. Even a Lycan would have succumbed to the agony at some point. ‘Twenty.’ The last blow lands and fina
Dameon ‘My King.’ He starts when the silence becomes unbearable for him and his nerves break. I silence him with my senses and he falls into a painfilled silence. ‘How dare you slaughter the entire family of that Alpha. I gave you no such permission.’ I keep my voice even and monotonal, emotions never serve well in situation like this. ‘I would have dealt out the punishment I deem fit as your King. Are you foolish enough to forget where the majority of our wealth comes from? How they out number us easily ten to one.’ My voice grows in volume and anger. I signal soundlessly to my driver, Tariq, to leave. Lucius fidgets uncomfortable in his seat from the weight of my anger as it pushes down on him. ‘I… My… I’m sorry.’ His words start and stop under the strain of my aura as it surrounds him and almost suffocates him. I didn’t become King through luck, I was born to be King. I am the strongest of all the Lycans and obviously I need to reaffirm my leadership and strength mo
Lucius‘Where is that little fucking tramp.’ My voice echoes up and down my huge entrance hall and down the corridors that lead off from this main room. ‘She is down in the basement with the slave girl.’ Miriam answers me quietly with her head bowed. Poor excuse for a Lycan as far as I’m concerned. The Goddess really did have it in for me, mating me to such a weak and pathetic creature. Her father’s money was the only reason I didn’t out right reject her instantly at the mating ceremony all those years ago. Her money and title could have bagged her anyone one she wanted as a chosen mate, but she was drawn to me through the bond and I have made the most of it ever since. She knows I play with the lower Lycans as often as I please, and those girls fall to their knees to please me with their mouths and hands. My slave girl is a human and I fuck her as often as I want, normally with Miriam at the same time. My cock starts to rise at the thought of having both of them in my bed. ‘Make sure
