Chapter One Hundred and Seventy One

"Could you please tell Grandma I'll be coming over for a few days?" Elena asked grabbing a toast from the plate of food on the dining table.

Clara stared at her daughter for two seconds and immediately nodded her head.

"Sure, sure. I'll ring her up and let her know" she replied walking towards the kitchen to pick up her phone.

"When do you want to go?" She asked.

"After school" Elena replied her reply immediately throwing Clara off balance.

"You mean after school today?" She asked rushing into the dining room to see Elena's quite very calm face.

"Yes," Elena replied taking a gulp of her tea.

"Elena, about yesterday…." Clara trailed off but paused in the middle seeing the way her daughter was staring at her.

"Mom, could you not ask about it?" Elena asked in a small voice that made Clara think she would burst into tears the very next minute. It was the softest Clara has ever seen her daughter.
