Chapter One Hundred and Thirty Nine

Matthew stared at her in shock, she was the last person he expected to see. Not after what she had done to him. He walked closer to her then halted, trying to withstand the urge of trailing his fingers down her smooth, plump cheeks.

"Matthew, I…." She said but got choked on her words.

She tried making out sounds but they only came out as a wheeze. Her nerves were caving in on her as she was unsure of the next step to take.

"I'm surprised to see you here, Elena. Silver told you right?" Matthew asked calmly, then stared at her.

"Yea, she did.. I can see that you're ready to leave." She said.

"You look beautiful," He complimented her on purpose, trying to avoid talking about the reason she was there.

"Thank… Thank you," She stuttered and fiddled with her fingers. She was avoiding his gaze because of reasons best known to her.
