Darlington's POV.

I couldn't believe Amara would be bold enough to announce to my mother that I touched her. When I was at our branch companies and received a phone call from my mother. I wonder why she sounded so urgent, demanding that I must return to our abode. I had to explain to her that I wasn't around and when I return home, we can sort out the matter. I knew it was about Amara. My mother doesn't like her and Amara is clearly stubborn as I advised her to keep her distance away from my mother.

I was afraid for my mother not to develop a heart attack because of me. I couldn't admit it to her face that I like Amara, even though it was what I was supposed to do. I held myself from admitting the truth and for the first time in my life, I had to lie to my mother even when I meet her gaze. I should have known Amara would disclose the truth.
