Chapter 17 Quarrel

Susan nervously inspected her bag. Such limited-edition designer bag could lose much of their value with just a slight imperfection.

Unfamiliar with the proper care and maintenance of luxury handbags, Susan attempted to clean it with a tissue, only making it dirtier.

"You owe me a new bag," Susan, on the verge of madness, relentlessly berated the waiter. "You've dirtied my bag, a gift from my boyfriend, worth 80,000 dollars! An LV brand, see?"

Susan kept stressing the price of the bag.

In view of her attitude, the waiter shot back, "I don't recognize any LV. Who would bring such an expensive bag to eat here? It's obvious your bag is a fake. Are you trying to swindle me? Was your boyfriend blind to fancy someone like you, with your looks and still climbing the social ladder?"

Those words hit Susan where it hurt the most.

"Who says it's fake? It's real," Susan argued fiercely, clinging to the waiter. "You will pay for my bag. Call your manager over here!"
