Chapter 38 Probing Conversation

Judy once had a minor cold or injury, and Susan would be very anxious and worried. However, now that Judy had almost lost her life, Susan did not show the slightest concern. Her tone seemed almost to blame Judy for being alright.

"Judy, is your boss seriously injured?" Susan pressed, "Where did he get hurt?"

Judy just looked at Susan and countered, "Susan, why are you so concerned about my boss?"

Susan was caught off guard, appearing uneasy and avoiding eye contact as she said, "You were in a car accident with your boss. What if his family blames you? Of course, I have to ask clearly."

Is that so?

Judy felt it wasn't that simple. Susan must be hiding something from her.

Testing the waters, Judy suggested, "My boss’s ward is just up ahead, Susan, why don't you go see for yourself?"

With Judy around, Susan dared not go.

"No need. He's your boss, and I don't know him, so why should I see him?" Susan asked uncomfortably, "Judy, are you staying at the hospital tonight?"
