As Luke told Vera of his plans, he could see that she was getting nervous and more nervous.

Though, he liked how she tried to show that she was trusting Luke.

And that’s all that mattered. He had tried hard to get Vera to trust him.

And so, just aft Luke finished telling Vera what he had planned, the waiter came with their orders.

Vera couldn’t wait to eat.

Luke was hungry too because he was nervous also.

He has never been so nervous before.

They ate with small talk.

But when they finished eating, Luke was quick to speak.

‘Tell me something that I don’t know about you, Vera.’ He spoke and looked at her intensely.

This took Vera back a bit.

There really wasn’t anything else to know about herself.

Well, except that she was pregnant.

But Vera didn’t want to tell him.

She didn’t want to speak it out loud because then she would be accepting it.
