27. Testing stubbornness

Rogue's POV

"You will have to earn it!" Kathrine's words chimed in my ears.

It's been five hours since I locked her in her room and left to attend my work. But I feel her around. Feel her in me like she's a part of me.

"Sir, Mr. Valachi wants to confirm about the meeting you have in the evening with him." My secretary walks in, waking me from my trance.

I gave her a nod, "Tell him I'm going to be there in time. Why does he need confirmation?"

"You didn't turn up thrice in the past, sir. So he wants to make sure you're going to be there this time and not leave him waiting on you."

"Oh," I raised my eyebrows at that. "It's confirmed this time. Tell him not to worry. We'll have a meeting today and get the deal signed."

She left me alone and I dwelled back in Kathrine's thoughts. Something has changed between us. I don't know what but we have formed a bond. She trusts me with her food and seems ready to go out to have her meals with me when I open the door.
