Chapter 44 - Undeniable Fear

As Kirsten and Matthew made their way further into the hall, Graciella, while talking to one of Lincoln's family friends, caught sight of them.

"Excuse me for a while, I'll come back in a bit," she said and strode off to Matthew and Kirsten after the person nodded.

Though feeling embittered, Graciella wore a smile on her face.

"Mr Roosevelt… " Graciella paused for a moment and continued despite the niggling feeling she had. "Mrs Roosevelt."

As though they had talked about it, in synchrony, Matthew nodded their head and said, "Mrs Lincoln."

The exchange between them was watched by the people inside the hall.

Following Graciella's lead, Matthew and Kirsten took the front seat and then left them, seemingly restless.

The people who had witnessed the whole fiasco the night before began to rethink if Jenny's statement was true.
