Alan stepped into his room and smiled at the familiarity, everything looks the same; a bit old but the same. His walls were painted in the same lemon color his parents thought was befitting for a boy, his king-sized bed is positioned in the middle of the room, on the right was his study table and the door to his bathroom, and on the left side of the room was his creaky wardrobe he always complained about; a laugh escaped his lips when he thought of the fond memories.
"Ahh, feels good to be home" he sighed and plopped down on the bed, but immediately stood up when the specks of dust got into his face, coughing hysterically.
At that very moment, Adilah, opened his door and peeked into the room; a sly smile on her face, "ah, I forgot to tell you, I cleaned the room but I forgot to make the bed, but I can see you already know" she said with a giggle, and before Alan could say anything, she shut the door and ran away.
"I'll get you Adilah!" He yelled from his room

Amanda stared blankly at the ceiling, a sleeping Jonathan cuddled to her side. It's been over 30 minutes since she woke up, but she has no urge to report to work or take Jonathan to school, the stress she underwent the past few days and the fact that a certain someone wouldn't leave her mind, is making her more stressed.Sighing, she decided to call in sick for both Jonathan and her, and just when she was about to pick up her phone; it pinged with a notification. She immediately picked it up and opened the message, her eyes widened slowly and she just stared at the message without blinking. She shook her head and blinked twice to make sure she was seeing right, million thoughts ran through her mind as she read the short message that Alan sent to her."Are you awake?" It was a short and harmless question, but after what transpired between them the last time, it felt weird. she wasn't expecting him to text her so soon and, that wasn't the type of text she was
Amanda alongside Jonathan, Malia, and Mark stood at the Airport, looking around and eagerly waiting for Alan. It's been two weeks since he left for Morocco and no day passed by without him sending a text to Amanda or calling her; she declined and ignored him numerous times at first, wishing he would stop but he never did. He persisted and slowly, Amanda started getting used to it; she will text him back immediately and respond the moment he calls, even if she's at work, she will get worried when she thinks he won't text, and sometimes she will call or text first. She will constantly tell herself that she's just being open to the idea of him being her friend but deep down her heart, she knows it's more than friendship and being in the airport waiting for him to come back while hiding under the pretext that she just escorted Jonathan is just one of the many proofs.Earlier in the dayAmanda opened h
"Okay guys, these are the dishes," Alan said, standing upright after placing all the dishes he brought back, on the dining table "these are some of the traditional foods, and few of my faves" he informed, smiling at the food."Woah" they all chorused together, looking at the food with amazement in their eyes. Their noses filled with the delicious aroma, making them a lot more hungry."Can we start eating already?" Jonathan asked without removing his eyes from the food, swallowing heavily and slowly licked his lips; eager to fill his stomach with the heavenly dishes before him."That's not happening, I'm going to freshen up and come down so we can eat together" he exclaimed while walking to the stairs "ah! Amanda, do you want to come with me?" He asked in a serious tone, making Amanda look up from the dishes that she's been devouring with her eyes, a look of confusion plastered on her."Why? Any problem?" She asked innocently, her eyebrows creased in confu
"What's wrong this time?" Alan asked, taking the phone away from Amanda; who looked angry and surprised at the same time. He read through it and his eyes widened as he did before his surprise turned into a smile "I guess you are a full celebrity now, getting involved in scandals and all, and look, I'm with you here so don't worry" he said, smiling at her. "I don't have time for jokes now, Alan. What if this does damages to my company like it did last time"? She asked, looking frustrated. She rubbed her forehead softly, feeling a headache coming up already. Alan looked at Jonathan; that was just staring at them in confusion, ransacking his little brain to figure out what was happening. He looked away from him and looked at Malia, and she nodded in understanding "come here, Jonathan. Let's go wash you up" she said, and grabbed his hands lightly, and headed upstairs, Mark trailing behind them. When he was sure they were out of sight, he turned to Amanda
The days passed by in a blur and before Amanda could process it, she is standing in front of her closet trying to find the right outfit for her date with Alan, Jonathan was once again in Malia's house. She felt a sense of Deja Vu wash through her when she remembered the last time she was in such situation. She chuckled at the memory and kept searching through her closet when she received a notification from her phone. She hurriedly picked it up and a smile graced her face when she saw the message and who it is from. "Hey! I know you probably standing in front of your closet now, so stop searching and just pick up a sundress. I'll pick you by 4 pm, which is an hour from now." _ Alan. She smiled and sent "sure, and thank you" when the message got delivered, she quickly picked out a red sundress that stopped a little above her knees, the dress was designed with white polka-dots and it had a thin hand. "Perfect!" She mumbled as she looked at the dre
Amanda and Alan cuddled up with each other in silence, watching the sunset with a smile on their faces; Alan reminiscing on the kiss Amanda gave him a while ago when her voice brought him out of memory lane. "I grew up in Nigeria; my mother's country" she started, taking him by surprise but instead of commenting he just pulled her closer to his body and she continued talking "It's a nice country, but as always in every country, there is always a bad part of it, and I grew up in the worst part of Nigeria with the worst family ever" a faint smile appeared on her face as she reminisced on the old memories. "At first, it was good. We were poor but happy, I barely have memories of those days but I knew it was good. But everything started going downhills when my mum started drinking, it started with a few drinks and coming home tipsy to being wasted every night, and soon enough my father joined her" she let out a little laugh after she said that, making Alan place a chaste
"here you go," Alan said, presenting a blanket and some folded clothes to Amanda, they got back a while ago and he brought her to the guest room after 10 minutes of trying to persuade her to sleep in the same room as him, which she vehemently refused to, resulting in them doing a quick cleaning the guest room. "You can change into that, and come downstairs for dinner" he informed her with a smile, which she returned."Thank you, but I think I'm full, can't stomach anything anymore," she said, patting her stomach with her free hand; she ate to her fill during the picnic."Oh, that means you'll be going to bed after taking a shower?" He asked, secretly hoping she will say no. He wants to spend more time with her, he feels their picnic date was just a few minutes when in reality, they spent more than two hours there."I said I'm not hungry, not that I am sleepy. I'll come downstairs when I'm done taking a shower" she said with an eye roll, and Alan heaved a sigh of
The atmosphere in the room was tense and the two individuals in the room could feel it, in as much as they tried to ignore it.Amanda cleared her throat, drawing Alan's attention to her "Most of the designs were sent to you yesterday, and I believe you would have gone through them" she said.He cleared his throat too and forced a smile on his face, "oh yes, I did. That'd partially the reason I'm here".That perked up Amanda's interest, "yeah? You didn't like the designs?" She asked a bit nervous as she personally came up with those designs, she hasn't worked on a piece of Egyptian jewelry before but she decided to give it a try in order to impress him.He chuckled and shook his head, "that's not the issue, I love them and I'm very impressed with them. I came because I want to talk about the quantity that was previously stated, I would like to increase them"She released a deep breath and smiled at him, "Alright, but then you'll have to increase you
