111 A Voice

William returned from the town late in the night and was a bit baffled. I did not ask him any questions, neither did he volunteer information. We slept that night cuddling. The mark on my neck was still a bit painful, but I kept it to myself. I didn't want him beating himself up over it.

Three days passed, and nothing happened out of the ordinary. I knew Jasper and William were planning something. Unable to hold it in any longer, I barged into William's office to confront him on the secrecy.

" Out with it?" I said, staring at him. I sat on the chair across from his desk. I must have interrupted something because he was startled.

" Out with what?" He asked, relaxing a bit.

" Really, William?" I asked, surprised at his response. " You went to town with Jasper three days ago, returned late in the night and haven't told me anything since." I pointed out, and he sighed a bit frustrated.
