“This is getting serious,” I mussed, looking at the corpse. The hunters brought the man down a few minutes ago after we arrived. The cause of death was the same. His organs were taken. The one who did it seemed to have harvested his organs before hanging him on a tree.

“Didn't you notice anything strange this morning?” Mike asked, turning towards the hunters.

“Nothing, my Alpha. We patrolled this area a few hours ago before we left. This happened so… It was unexpected. We just got alerted by a kid, who was returning from school,” he explained, his eyes wide in fear.

“A student? Where is the Student?” Miles demanded, still looking at the corpse as if he might find something by doing that.

“She's detained in my house. If you wish, we can take you to her,” he offered.

“That will be appreciated,” I said, turning to confront the other hunters. “Why can't you all disperse around the pack? Why go in a pack when you can guard the area in two?” I scowled at them.
