“But you like these old men, don't you?” Miles looked back with a smile, winking.

“Who?” Wrinkling my nose, I closed my eyes, still with my head placed on Mitch's shoulder. He resumed running his fingers through my hair, his touch soothing.

“You. Weren't you the one who always followed us with your eyes? You were always looking towards us. Did I lie about that?”

Pursing my lips, I didn't reply. I kept my eyes shut, not in the mood to argue with him.

“Summer is —”

“Just shut the hell up,” Mitch growled at his brother, and that shut him up. Miles didn't say a word until we reached home. I could sense their distance from Mitch as they walked towards the front door, with Mitch following close behind me like a sheep with no sense of direction.

“Are you going to keep ignoring your brothers?” I frowned at him, folding my arms as I turned to face him fully. “They didn't mean to interrupt us. If you want to get angry, don't you think it should be with the woman you saved?”
