Dawn broke bringing with it the soft chirps of birds and the cool fresh air mixed with its icy touch. A cool breeze entered the room's close confines, causing the teal and white curtains to move along in a dance, revealing a ray of light to seep past them. The ray of light shined over a sleeping Robin, disturbing her peaceful slumber.
Grumbling in protest she turned her head to face the other way falling back into the world of dreams. However, her peace was short-lived and her alarm blared at her to wake up.
"Are you freaking kidding me?"
She cried out in frustration peeling off her covers and slamming a hand over the alarm a shot of relief flooded through her at the seizing of the annoying noise. Throwing her legs off the bed she sat up rubbing her eyes in fatigue. She yelped from her seated position as she stepped on the cap of one of her beers.
The floor was covered in empty bottles of beer and the caps littered her dresser and floor. After the events of last night, Robin raided her fridge and gulped down bottles of beer in despair. The thoughts of her lover betraying her the way he did yesterday and the words he said affected her more than she had thought they would.
The more she thought about him and what he did the more it made sense to her that he would leave her for her sister. His usual type was the kind of woman who was thin with long legs and a tiny waist with no tummy fat at all. The kind that her sister was and she was not.
Sighing out in frustration robin walked to her fridge looking for more booze to drown her sorrows in. Unfortunately, she had drunk her entire stockpile. Rolling he eyes at her past self's selfish actions she grabbed a nearby jacket along with her keys and prepared to go out to buy more of the toxic liquor.
After locking her door she ran down the stairs, greeting the old lady who worked behind the counter
"Hey, Elise"
"Oh, Robin dear. Be careful when you go out there seems to be some sort of commotion coming from outside"
Laughing at Elise's comment Robin could not help but roll her eyes at the always cautious woman and instead gave her the answer she always gave.
"I will thank you, Elise"
Pushing the doors open she grabbed her phone out of her jacket's pocket and began scrolling through I*******m. Pausing at a new post her brow raised at the most recent news of a man by the name of Ethan getting with a new woman.
Curious Robin pressed the photo but before she could see it she felt herself bump into someone her phone fell at the impact and she began profusely apologizing.
"I am so very sorry I was not looking where I was going and I-"
"Wait, are you Robin Heymers?"
"Huh?"
She asked confused at the stranger. He gave a broad smile and began bombarding her with questions.
"How did you meet Mr. Acres and how long has your relationship been going? Have the two of you been in a secret relationship or-"
"Wa-wait, secret relationship? What are you talking about?"
"Guys it's her, she's Robin Heymers!"
The strange man called out to the people standing away from us, as soon as they heard him they all rushed toward her in a rush, and before she could think Robin found herself surrounded by a hoard of people.
"Could you tell us about your love affair with Mr. Acres?"
"Care to comment on your attire of the night before, are you a runaway bride?"
"Ms. Heymers what about your social queue status?"
They asked without waiting for her reply cornering her with flashes of cameras going off nearly blinding her. Feeling overwhelmed Robin stood there helpless at the situation. Her eyes darted around looking for an escape but she could not find one.
What was she to do in such a situation? Lost and afraid she prayed in her head for a saviour. That someone could help her get out of this.
Anyone, anyone will do just... please just help me.
Just as she thought that she felt her arm being grabbed and someone pulling her out of the crowd. Looking back at the stranger she felt uncertain at the sight of the tall figure disguised in all black, the face hidden beneath a hoody.
As he dragged her away she quickly remembered her phone that had previously fallen to the ground. Reaching down to the pavement to grab her phone she was relieved to find it undamaged but her relief was cut short as she was forced back to reality and whisked away by the stranger.
The two ran into her building, the stranger leading her by hand. Passing by the register with Elise worriedly looking over Robin gave her a reassuring smile.
"I'll be right back Elise"
She tried to ease the elderly lady's worry, though she was not certain if she would indeed be fine. Walking into the elevator the tall figure looked at her. Confused she looked back at him in question. Without saying a word he pointed at the buttons indicating for her to press the one to her floor.
"Oh"
Reaching her hand toward the pannels she pondered on pressing the wrong one and then making a run for it but the tight grip on her wrist reminded her that she was in this man's grasp.
Chucking the thought back she complied with his orders and pressed the button to her apartment level. as the doors closed she again contemplated running off and leaving the man trapped in the elevator. Before she could act on her thought the doors closed and they began ascending.
The ride was relatively short but felt longer as compared to when she usually took it alone. The awkward silence and tension in the small area were enough to choke her. It was quite uncomfortable and unnerving.
Once the doors opened Robin sighed in relief but the feeling did not last long. Pulling her out she was pulled to her door and again an unnerving feeling welled within her.
How does he know which is my apartment? Is he a stalker or something, did he come here to harm me or was he someone sent by Victor?
Shoving her forward the man wordlessly told her to open the door to her apartment. Complying with his demand not wanting to get hurt a million thoughts ran through her head.
Just what could she do to escape?
Entering the room Robin immediately began assessing the situation. Though fear coursed through her she could not risk her own safety. While she was occupied with her fear the man began his assessment of her apartment. Looking around at the small space he was beyond unimpressed. An old washed-out couch, a cracked laptop that sat atop a stained coffee table, what an uninteresting place this was, just like its owner. Going back to Robin he noted her even-toned chocolate skin and curvaceous figure. She was in no way fat but instead quite thick on the thighs and ass. Lifting a brow at her messily tied hair he could not help but sigh at her lack of self-care. "Wh-who are you and what do you want" Snapping back at her eyes he could see the nervous look in her eyes. "We met before" "What?" "Yesterday, we met last night" Last night? How? I came directly home after the whole incident from yesterday, I am sure I did not run into a tall hooded figure in the middle of the driveway or some
When she was a little girl Robin always had some sort of vision of her future. A good marriage with a hardworking husband, two or three kids filling the house with their joyful screams, and a cute golden retriever as the family dog. That was the life she had dreamed of. Instead, she was tossed aside by her fiance on their wedding day, used as a pawn by her own mother, and ridiculed by her sister. Her reality was far from the dream life she had wished for. "I'm sorry, what now?" "Being a mistress to a well-known CEO would mean danger for you. Put simply you would be a target for the media. However, if a marriage between the two of us is established then you would have my protection from the media and they would be less likely to attack you." If it was dangerous for me, why would he care? It's not like we know each other or something so why is he suggesting this for my protection? "Okay, but what is in it for you?" She asked looking up at him from the couch. "It would clear up m
Just as sleep was knocking at her door a different type of knock came from the real world. Groaning at the notification sound she stood up on her hands and looked over at the phone on the coffee table. Scrambling for the device she struggled to get it due to being too lazy to move off her couch. Once she got a hold of it she opened her notifications only to be surprised by the number of messages she received from her best friend. A bit distraught by the overwhelming number of them she made haste to dial her friend. Ring Ring "Layla, I am so sorry I-" "Robin where the heck have you been? Are you alright?" "Y-Yeah I am. Why did something happen?" She asked her frantic friend concerned that she might have been in some sort of danger or hurt. "What do you mean what happened? What happened is that I found myself playing maid of honour to your evil sister, not to mention waking up to seeing my best friend's face pasted on every news channel. Robin what the hell is going on?!" "Wait,
Waking up once again to another day Robin opened her curtains wide and stared out into the city. Gazing up at the clear blue sky her face fell in distraught as the sky had remained the same whilst her life was slowly crumbling. Shifting away from the window she looked at the fully packed luggage bag sitting atop her bed. Everything was packed and ready to go. The only thing that was not prepared was her heart. Sitting on the edge of her bed she sighed, burying her face in her hands. Though she had already signed the contract she was still unsure of her decision. Doubt filled her mind and a sinking feeling settled in the pits of her stomach. Just as she was falling into a tunnel of uncertainty she was brought back by the sudden knock on her door. Whipping her head out of her hands she stood up from her bed and made her way to the door. "Who is it?" She called out with her hand on the handle leaning against the door. "Ms Heymers? My name is Alec I was sent here by Mr Acres." "O
Coming to a halt at the foot of the entrance stairs Alec got out to open the door for her. Once again he offered a hand to help her out this time. As soon as she stepped out her heart fluttered at the beautiful mansion. She knew the man she had signed her soul off to was rich but had no idea he was that wealthy. "Wow" She breathlessly gasped looking up to the stairs that led to the main door. A large black oak door with small intricate designs carved in them. "Ms Heymers? Please follow me" Carrying her luggage up the stairs Alec gestured for her to follow. Felling a bit guilty about giving her things to someone else to carry she offered to help only to be quickly shut down. "It is no issue Miss, they aren't even heavy for me." Giving her a reassuring smile Robing allowed him to go on without her help. Entering the mansion again she found herself stunned at the sight. Just as dark as the outside the interior design was just as black. Geez is this man a CEO or part of the mafia?
Grumbling in protest at the light shining across her face Robin turned away from the window in an attempt to fall back into slumber. Sighing in relief she grasped her sheets delighted at their soft touch. Her brows scrunched in confusion at the silk sheets. She did not own anything as soft as this. Startling awake she sat up in a panic. Looking around at her surroundings she slowly calmed down as memories from the previous day came rushing back. "Ah, right. I forgot about it" Relieved from her shock she lay back on her pillows. Closing her eyes in meditation she heaved a large sigh sinking into the large pillows behind her. A small breeze made its way into the room from the small opening of the window. All tension left her body, shivers ran across her skin at the touch of the cold breeze. Before falling asleep, a knock on the door frightened her out of her daze. Her senses came back and she answered the stranger behind the door with a small yet audible voice. "Um, come in" The do
Her breath caught in her chest at the feel of his half-naked body against her. She could feel his morning wood poking at the small of her back. His other arm slowly made its way to her stomach, running it across her chest finally stopping at her neck. Holding her with a firm grip he played with her throat. A thousand things ran through her head at that moment. She was confused as to why he was doing this. But even though her head kept telling her to step away from him her body could not follow suit. Lowering his head to the side of her neck he ran his nose up to her ear. With each stroke of his hand on her neck, a shiver ran down her spine. Smirking at her reaction he bit the tip of her. Releasing a moan her back arched in delight as she had no control over her body. Before she could lose herself in the pleasure he suddenly let go of his grip on her and stood back. She caught herself before she fell and looked back at the man with fury in her eyes. It was the fiery look from that
Picking herself from the floor she brushed her hair out of her face and sighed in defeat. It had not been long since she had woken up but she was already far too tired to carry on. Looking to her side she placed her hand on her hips. "Now what?" The man behind the door was supposed to bring her to the dining area for breakfast but he instead left her to fend for herself. Glancing back at the door with the man she called her husband behind it, she considered asking for help but immediately crushed the idea as fast as it had come up. She picked a random direction down the hallway, figuring she might work things out as she went. A decision she would soon regret. Half an hour passed and she had yet to find what she was looking for. Rounding another corner she finally submitted to the idea that she had no clue where she was. "Yeah. I'm lost" Grunting in frustration she could not help but blame the man who brought her here for her new misfortune. "If that jerk just thought about help
