Chapter 29

Sara's POV

I stepped away from Davis's grip in trembling causing him to look at me weird.

"What's wrong?"

"This is wrong." I looked around us. Everything we were doing right now was wrong? How could we act like real couples do when our marriage was based upon a contract?

"No." I shook my head. "I can't do this."

Davis seemed to understand what I was hinting because then he said, "Then I guess you'll say no to my inviting you to my room."

I gave Davis a look and he nodded at me charmingly with a tight smile. "No worries, but I would really enjoy if we shared a bed tonight." He said and headed out of my room.

I had a feeling that our discussion was not be complete. But I ignored the feeling and simply removed the dress and hung it in my closet. I headed to the restroom to freshen up and by the time I was down, I sank into the fresh pair of sheets. It was soothing, comforting and warm I loved it.

I didn't know when or how I dozed off but up next, I felt a pair of arms around me in bed.
