Sara's POV

“Congratulations love,” said Davis with a grim smile as I walked in through the front door. “You got what you wanted.”

“How do you know?” I said with an attitude even though deep inside I was rejoicing at the fact that he praised me.

“I’m one of your investors.”

I understood. He may have used another person as a standin so he could protect his reputation as a lawyer.

“Who?”

“Adams Johner.”

I smirked, “I knew that name sounded suspicious.”

“Don't worry.” he said. “So, how do we celebrate?”

“By working harder.” I said and hurried off to my room. I was so tired and the only thing I wanted was my bed.

However, just as I pushed the door open, I accidentally hit a rope and sprinkles from above started to fall on me. I sighed and looked up only to see the congratulations card hung up. I sighed and made an annoyed face even though deep inside I was screaming and very delighted by this surprise. But still, I felt like an evil person because all these wouldn't matter in a few months
