Allison’s POV

Burying my head in my hands, I heaved a deep sigh. Two days had passed since Aiden suddenly slumped and became comatose.

Earlier today, Doctor Clayton had also informed me that he had to be operated on before the end of tomorrow or else she'd be forced to discharge him, which would be the worst.

Where in the world was I supposed to take him?

I nearly jumped out of my skin when a warm hand laid on my shoulder.

“It's me, Tasha,” My best friend uttered, and only then did my trepidation dissipate.

In the last forty eight hours, I had only eaten once, and that was because Tasha has threatened to force-feed me, after I almost fainted of exhaustion.

Although I knew I needed food to survive, I just couldn't bring myself to eat. Not when my baby was currently fighting for his life all alone in the ICU.

Not when I had no idea how or where I was supposed to get three million before tomorrow ended.

Fuck, I was truly done for.
