Watching the kids with Ivan immediately became the highlight of my day and I couldn’t do anything but watch with tear filled eyes as they all held each other.

“I told you that they’d come around, didn’t I?” Camille’s low voice jolted me out of my thoughts and I sniffled as I turned to look at her .

“You did.” I admitted, covering my mouth with my palm. I didn’t want to interrupt the moment they were having and soon, Ivan pulled them out of his arms.

“I am so sorry,” Ivan sniffled, laughing at the same time as he was apologizing, “I’m sorry that you had to go through something as cruel as that but I promise to be better.” He added.

“It’s Okay,” Adeline smiled, cleaning the teardrop off her father’s eye, “I just don’t want mom to go through what she went through with uncle Darren anymore.” She added and my heart melted.

My jaw dropped, my mouth opened but I couldn’t bring myself to say anything. I hated the fact that they still had the memory of what happened years ago.
