Not Going To Work

"Where did you go last night, Beck?" Nick asked as he barged into his cousin's office.

"Yes, you came in, said your hellos, and then were gone, you sneaky fox," Mark said as he walked behind his younger brother.

"I umm... left," Was the brief reply Beck spoke out as he took yet another call. "Boys, I don't have time to play today, Philippa, Uh, Ms. Carver is not doing her job properly this morning, so I'm a bit swamped at this moment."

"So, fire her," Nick relayed as he sat on the sofa next to his brother.

"Ahh, he won't do that, dear brother, no I caught him with her skirt hiked up, sitting on our handsome cousin's desk." Mark retorted as he grabbed a handful of pecans getting ready to crack.

"Shut up Marcus Dean," Beck raised his voice as he leaned back in his chair, staring up at the ceiling.

"Hey Becket Levi, let's not resort to name-calling here," Mark whined as he popped a pecan into his mouth.

"Yes, let's be civilized boys," Nick laughed as he rose from the sofa and walked in front of his cousin's desk.

"Ahh, only because you asked so nicely Nicholas Henry," Beck joked as he crossed his leg over the other.

"Alright, alright, so are you going to tell us where you went, or are we going to have to guess?" Nick asked as he grabbed a handful of cashews and popped them into his mouth.

"Well, Mark, I took your advice and asked not one, not two, but three women I thought I could trust." Becket placed the tips of his fingers together, bringing them in front of his mouth, with a look of contemplation across his face. "I went to Kenley O'Hill's..."

"That was your first mistake, Kenley. Beck, we haven't spoken to her in over a year, and for good reason," Mark answered as he sat up from his seat.

"Yes, I seem to have forgotten that part, let's just say I didn't stay long," He raised his eyebrows as he moved his hands to his dark blue pants. "So, I looked up Margret McNeary, and did you know she was married now? Yeah found that out when her husband opened the door, She's Margret Meyer now. It took me a minute but I found Sandy Durant, She was willing but wanted double the amount I was willing to sign and wanted more when we divorced, She also wanted a baby, to ensure payment."

"What?!" Nick and Mark screeched simultaneously as Mark rose to his feet. "I sincerely hope you rejected her proposal?" Mark bellowed as he stared down his cousin sitting nonchalantly in his chair.

"My god man, are you trying to lose everything? And to that beast of all people, don't you remember what she was trying to do to Ryan before he got with Abigale?" Nick followed as he put both of his hands on the large wooden desk leaning over it.

"Yes, yes, but I thought in over five years that she would've changed, I offered her ten grand," Beck spoke up as he banged his hands on his legs getting to his feet.

"Beck your mind must be slipping, She found Ryan online, duped him, drugged him, and tried to impregnate herself because she wanted all his money, not to mention she was trying to do the same to Kaleb." Nick started as he sat back down on the sofa.

"Oh, bollocks, you're right, all the stress I'm under with work and now my father and his demands, three months you know he gave me three months?!" Beck yelled out as she scratched his stubble making his way over to his bar to pour himself a drink.

"Yes, of course, we know," Mark stated as he walked over next to his cousin.

"And now with Ms. Carver, I honestly don't know what she is doing, She came in this morning, tried to get to her knees, and I pushed her off. She slammed the door on her way out." Beck moaned as he took a sip of his drink making his way back to his chair.

"Forget your secretary, she's bad at her job anyway, I'll get you a new one." Mark began, "Come to the club tonight. There are two women you haven't asked yet."

"What?" Nick asked as he fixed his older brother a drink. "Lucky St. Pierre and Cherokee Rains?"

"Of course, you know Nick and I have already sampled Lucky, and she is a vixen in the sack I must say. Wouldn't you agree dear brother?" Mark asked as he crossed his legs swirling the ice in his glass.

"Yes, she is but Ms. Rains is very easy on the eyes, I was hoping to take her soon. Though if you prefer I'll step aside or sample her, whichever you like." Nick continued as he sat next to his brother on the sofa.

"I can't believe I didn't think of them before, I sent my car for them, because let's be honest their car is an eyesore." Becket sipped his drink contorting his face. "Lucky doesn't seem much like wife material."

"Yes, Uncle Todrick would sniff her out in a heartbeat," Mark said as he grabbed another handful of pecans. "What about Cherokee?"

"Yes, she is easy on the eyes as you say," Beck stated as he started shuffling the papers around on his desk. "She will likely be the better choice, any choice is better than where she is at now, I'm not even sure if she works."

"Umm, I'm embarrassed to say I have no idea, I don't think any of us asked," Nick chuckled as he grabbed the glass from Mark and walked back over to the bar.

"Well, tonight is the night you find out hmm?" Mark made his way to the door as he waited on his brother.

"Yes, of course, I'll draw up the paperwork as a precaution," Beck spoke as he rose to his feet and walked his cousins out the door.
