I woke up feeling a heavy weight on my chest, the kind that made it hard to breathe, let alone think about eating.

But I knew I had to try.

With a sigh, I picked up the phone and called room service.

"Hi, I would like to order breakfast, please," I said, my voice sounding hollow even to my own ears. I rattled off a list of food that I didn’t really want but knew I needed for my body to keep functioning.

When the food arrived, I dragged myself to the door and let the server in.

He set the tray on the table, lifting the cloche with a flourish.

My stomach churned at the sight of the silver cutlery gleaming on the tray.

Silver — A werewolf’s worst nightmare.

​​"Is everything okay, Ma’am?" the server asked, a concerned look on his face.

“Huh?” I glanced up at him, realizing I had been staring at the cutlery for too long. “Yes. You can leave.”

He gave me a hesitant nod and left the room.

I groaned, feeling a mix of frustration and fear.
