Steve pov:

As I slowly opened my eyes, I realized that we were in the same car that we had driven to get here.

I sat up and looked around to see Maggie and Matthew smoking outside with a look of frustration etched on their faces. My chest felt fine, surprisingly, and when I checked, there was no sign of a wound.

I stepped out of the car and walked towards Maggie and Matthew. Maggie rolled her eyes when she saw me approaching and took another drag from her cigarette.

"What's the matter, Maggie?" I asked her, concerned.

"You're the matter, Steve," she snapped, pointing at my chest, "I thought you got shot and I was freaked out."

Matthew just stood there, silently watching us, and chuckled.

"Wait, what? How did I not get shot?!" I exclaimed in confusion.

"Relax, buddy. You were wearing a bulletproof vest. Remember when we got out of the jet? I gave it to you, but you were so mad that you didn't even listen to me. Luckily, the vest saved your life," Matthew explained calmly.
