Unspoken Pain

Steve pov:

My heart raced as I stared at Jeremy standing stubbornly in the middle of the road.

What was he thinking?!

The truck was barreling down the road, honking loudly, but he just stood there like a statue.

I didn't think twice before sprinting toward him, my mind focused on just one thing, saving him.

With every step I took, the sound of the truck's engine grew louder, making my heart beat faster. And then, with a burst of energy, I pushed him off the road just in time as we both tumbled to the ground.

My ears were ringing with the sound of the truck's blaring horn as it rushed by us.

As I caught my breath, a wave of anger washed over me. If I had been a second too late, Jeremy would have been hit by that truck. I couldn't believe he had put himself in such danger.

As we both rose to our feet, I hastily pulled Jeremy towards the hospital parking lot. Standing in front of him, I could see his eyes were red and puffy from all the crying.
