12. Homecoming.

Adrian's POV.

My plan had backfired at me. What in heaven's name made me think asking her to pay for the room's entire cost would be the perfect payback.

How is it that she knows just what exactly needed to be done to make me look and feel like the smaller person?

I shut my eyes quietly there on the floor where I laid and blamed myself over and over again for not thinking twice about my actions.

There in my conflicted thoughts, I fell into a deep sleep.

I woke up the next morning with my body aching all over. I could never get used to sleeping on the floor as I had done last night and now, my body suffered the consequences of it.

I sat up and tried to stretch my muscles on the floor where I sat still. My eyes darted to the bed and I realised she was not there anymore.

As I wondered where she could have gone, I suddenly remembered that I had to get Jay from the hospital since he would be discharged this morning.

I managed to pull my aching body up from the floor and moved to the ward
