“Daddy, where are you going?” I forced a smile upon hearing her question. She had been asking this for the past hours now and I was getting tired of answering the same questions over and over again.

“I told you before baby, Daddy is going to a ball party,” I said arranging my tie.

“It’s a formal social gathering for the rich, where we have a good wine and dance,” I answered as best I could.

I looked at her and shook my head, “No baby, you can’t.”

“Because this ball isn’t for kids at your age, it’s for adults.”

“No, you aren’t. You are still a child and it would take many years for you to become an adult.”
