Elena POV

I could hear talking but it was muffled by the screaming ring in my ears. Opening my eyes it was hard to focus on any one face, but then I saw Damon rushing to my side.

“ELENA???! Elena?? Can you hear me?” His voice actually sounded like he had concern for me.

“Elena can you say anything? We need to know the extent of the damage done to your motor functions.” The old man standing next to him said. He approached me, lifting my eyelids to flash a bright light in my eyes.

“Get away from me” I said in a raspy voice.

“Ma’am I’m only trying to check your well being, you’ve been through quite a number. My presence is necessary.” The man responded before he went back to checking my pupils.
