56- Awake but not there
The clouds were grey, the air was heavy, reflecting the sombre mood that prevailed in the waiting room in front of the operating room where Trevor had been shuffled late that night. Gina was nervous, staring blankly at the operating room. Life has been just too cruel to that little boy, she thought as she paced back and forth trying to calm her nerves. Sammy was inconsolable, for she felt guilty if only she had let Trevor go home as he had begged her!!!! The operation took at least six hours. By the time he was brought to the hospital, he had lost a lot of blood, he had a lot of cuts all over his body and two deep ones on his stomach and head. He had been beaten up really bad and had some broken bones and some internal injuries.
